A Modern Cinderella
(This takes place after FTB)
"Bye Ichigo! Be back in a few days!" Rukia chimed, makeing an attempt to leap out the window, but she noticed then that Ichigo had grabbed her rist, so she sighed and asked the question that she new she'd regret asking, "Wat?" "Well, Midget, wat part of 'You're never going to Soul Society without me again' don't you understand?" Rukia's mouth dropped slightly, "Wa- You were seriuose?! I thought you were just over-reacting because I came back slightly injured last time!" At that statement Ichigo was standing, glareing at her with obvouse anger, "'Slightly injured'? 'Slightly injured'?! You were way more than 'slightly injured' Rukia! Besides, I was about to make that a rule anyway, frankly I don't trust your brother not to kill and or marry you off wen I'm not looking," Rukia rolled her eyes, honestly, he was so overprotective! "Going alone is out of the question, Rukia," "And wat are yo going to do to stop me? Hm?" Ichigo grinned, "Two words: Pad locks" Rukia glared at him, "Let's not add lateness to my list of reasons to be disowned," and at that they were off, although frankly Ichigo thought that getting the Kuchikis to disown her would do more good than harm....
"You have to stay here," Rukia said simply, opening the door to her room in the Kuchiki manor, "Why?!" "Because I'm going shopping," "For wat?" "None of your buisness!" she shouted, "Wait...isn't tommorrow your birthday?" Rukia glared daggeres at him, "Yeah, so?" "Uh, um, well, never mind," and with that the door slammed shut, 'Tommorrow's her birthday, hm, Renji's probbably getting her a Chappy, so wat should I do?' he thought, and then it hit him like a ton of bricks, the perfect present!
Ichigo grinned, looking at the clock, admittedly he was a bit uneasy remembering that they were on their way to this big formal party, espically considering that he would be their as Rukia's personal guest and Byakuya had tried to "reason with her" and therefor get him banned, luckily for Ichigo it didn't work, aparently there was some sort of tradition that no one close to Rukia could see her before the party, and as he waited for her at the bottum of the large stair case, he had the sudden feeling that she wasn't paticuarly fond of this "rule" either, and then he heard the announcer call her name, he looked up and she was wearing the most beautifull kimono, it was pink with purple flowers and her hair was tied up with a small purple rose, "Wow," he wispered, "Wow wat?" "Agh!" Wen had she stepped next to him....? She tilted her head, "Wat's WITH you?" she aasked, "Um, nothing," he followed her to a less crowded area of the ball room, "These parties are so boreing, I wish I could just celebrate my own way," Ichigo grinned, "Then...let's leave wile they're distracted," he wispered, Rukia smiled, "And were would we go?" "I have an ideah,"
"So do you no how to ice skate?" Rukia rolled her eyes, sitting on a wooden bench near a frozen pound, "Ofcourse I do!" Ichigo grinned, "By the way, here's part one of your gift," he handed her a pink box and she looked at him questioningly, "Part one?" "Yep, there are two," Rukia shook her head slowly, opening the box, and wen she saw its contents, a complete look of shock came over her, "Are these....?" she wispered, pulling out a pair of the most beautifull slippers she had ever seen, "Are these....glass?" she wispered, Ichigo nodded slowly, "Do you realize how hard it is to find glass slippers?" she smirked, "These are just for show right?" "No, you can wear them, and by the way, look on the bottum," she turned one of the shoes over, and her mouth dropped, "Are these...ice skates?" Ichigo smirked, "And finding glass ice skates is even nmore difficult," there was a small blade on the bottum of the slippers, but they were quickly out of her grasp and resting in Ichigo's hands, he smirked, neeling before her and slideing her ice skates on (she had already taken off her sandals) he smiled at her, "So are you ready to ice skate?" "Yes, but it looks like someone beat us to it," she said simply, "Oh, well let's go to the other side of the pound then," he took her hand and they walked up the path and over the small bridge, wen Ichigo stopped, "I think there's something written in the ice," Rukia looked over the side of the bridge, and the words "Marry Me Rukia" were etched in the frozen pound, she swished around to see Ichigo neeling before her, ring in hand, "Marry me Rukia," he said, Rukia smiled, took the ring, and wispered, "Ofcourse," before kissing him lightly on his lips, she truley felt like a modern Cinderella, "Happy birthday, Rukia,"
