So, as you know, our wedding theme is Victorian/Industrial/Steampunk and our colour scheme is pretty much gold, browns, ivory and duck egg blue. (I freakin' love that colour!)
The only thing is, there is so, so much involved in wedding planning and it's shockingly NOT the larger tasks that are most stressful. It's actually thinking about the teeny tiny things. For example...
- What sort of invites to send out?
- Do you send save the day cards AND RSVP cards with the invites, or not?
- What chair covers to have, or should I skip on them?
- Should I go for organza ribbons on the chairs?
- What colour should the organza ribbons be if I DO have them?
- What table decorations should I have?
- Should I have candles?
- Should I have bird cages?
- Should I have table scatter crystals?
- Should I have balloons?
- Should I have bunting?
- Should I have garlands?
- Should I have fresh flowers, silk flowers, or no flowers at all?
- What gifts do I give to the Bridesmaids?
- Should I give a gift or flowers to give the mother of the bride and mother of the groom?
- Should I buy place cards, or make them myself?
- What colour/style should the place cards be?
- Should I print out menus to send the guests?
- Should I offer two desserts and give them the choice?
- What desserts should I choose if I do?
And so on and so on...
So, as you can see... I'm going out of my mind thinking about it. I know it's 4 years away, but I like to get an idea of what I want ahead of time so I know exactly what is involved.
Do you guys have any idea of things I could do to make the day better? Have any idea of decorations, gift ideas, or even an idea for the cake design?
Have at it. I'm open to all ideas at the moment, as long as it's in keeping with the theme and colours.
