So I've had a shite 24 hours recently when it comes to art and art submission.
Sheezy Art - Deleted some photographs submitted after they apparently 'showed no artistic merit'. A couple were from professional photoshoots. One was a memorial image of Greenie.
DeviantArt - The Hanna Barbera group declined Hanna Barbera cartoon-based fanfiction. (They don't say anywhere that they don't accept written works either.)
Fanart Central - Declined an image that apparently had poor resolution, yet printers have never rejected it when adding it to merchandise in the past.
Here's an example of what kind of messages I got in reply to the one of Greenie:
"They're trying to get away from photographs of things that you'd generally put on or see on social media sites like Facebook.
If this were provided as a stock image; they may be different consideration for the image, but I would agree with them on this one.
The overall feeling one gets from this image is "Here is a picture of my bird, on my arm", sorry if this feels negative, but it's not an artpiece.
The other thing is why are you posting someone else's "art" on your account; that doesn't make sense to me.
What was the description for the image?"
"Well, they probably removed it because it isn't artistic at all. The quality is bad, there's no proper backgrounds or even nice lighting. It didn't look like you did anything at all to make it nice. Seemed more like a quick snapshot of your pet to me."

I understand the whole 'OMG SHIT QUALITY GAIZ LETS DELETE', but where does one draw the line on that? I could understand it if it was a god awful ugly duck face from some orange tinted, scantilly clad girl that was taken in a mirror.
I've been on there since around 2004 on another account as I wanted to escape DA and I've NEVER encountered this before the whole time I've been there. DA FUQ
