International Debauchery

When it comes to one subgenre of manga that overlooked all too often, it is international satire. Basically, it blows diplomacy out of the water by simply doing whatever the hell it takes to get the job done. Now, we have all heard of Hetalia: Axis Powers. But let us take a look at other overlooked gems.

The Legend of Koizumi
When one thinks of how to relax after a stressful day at work in Japan, one thinks of karaoke, ginza bars and so much more. However, if you enjoy games, how about a quiet game of Mahjong? In The Legend of Koizumi (Mudazumo Naki Kaikaku), there is NO SUCH THING AS A QUIET GAME OF MAHJONG! Surrounding the mysterious Junichiro Koizumi, the real life maverick 89th prime minister of Japan and mahjong god, this series is guarenteed to make one chuckle and smirk with utter amusement. The series takes place during the Bush and Putin administrations in which all sorts of tomfoolery has insued. No tile is unturned and no leader is safe. Ranging from names like George W. Bush, George H. W. Bush a.k.a. "Papa Bush", Kim-Jong Il, Pope Benedict XVI, Vladimir Putin, Taro Aso and Dmitry Medvedev; you know it is going to be good. And it just gets better when it is revealed the Nazis landed on the moon first and the Fourth Reich wants to take over the world. I have no clue as to how to play Mahjong but some of the ridiculous scores are simply guffaw inducing. All Honors, Three Hidden Quads, Four Quads, Rinshan, Dora 72, 140 Fu, 105 Han Aotenjou rules. Beginning of the Cosmos. 90,865,195,024,359,483,499,283,685,761,351,700 points. Did I mention the tiles were made of depleted uranium? Need I say more?
