This is a world of music! Loud music, happy music, sad music, random music; all music! I love all music, from classic rock to classic metal to death metal to industrial to techno (used in a generic genre lumping) to (SOME) rap to (VERY LITTLE) country. If you couldn't tell already, I'm more of a "rocker." I'd rather listen to some form of rock than anything else, any day.
With each post I will include a brief summary of the band (sometimes it may be extended to rambling as I'm prone to do) and a little info on the song (possibly). I will also include info about the song (Artist, album, genre, etc). The genre area will be filled out with a few of the most common categories with which the artist/band/song is classified. Since the music scene has become more diverse it's been increasingly difficult to really narrow down a song/band to one sub-genre of music, therefore, most songs/bands have multiple genres that categorize them. So, yeah.
I will post and you will enjoy, and possibly even comment. I'd love to hear what you all think about the song, band or anything in general. Even to suggest something I should listen to/post.

Lamb of God formed, originally, under the name of Burn the Priest with Mark, Chris and John in Richmond, Virginia. Mark left to continue his education, so John and Chris replaced Mark with Abe Spear. In 1995 the band released their first demo, and three more later, added Randy Blythe to the group. In 1997 Morton rejoined the band and come two years later, released their first album (self titled) Burn the Priest. Eventually Spear left the band and was replaced by Chris' brother Willie Adler as the second guitarist. After numerous bans from various venues believing that their name possessed an "evil" meaning, the group changed the name to Lamb of God.
In 2000 they released their second album entitled New American Gospel and three years later released As the Palaces Burn. In 2004 they released Ashes of the Wake which is one of their most recognized albums. Following Ashes of the Wake are Sacrament in 2006 and Wrath in 2009.
I love Lamb of God. It's Pure American Metal, as the band says. Enjoy the onslaught.

Coheed and Cambria are a progressive rock band from New York that started around 1995 under the name of Shabütie. Shabütie was taken from a word in African from the movie The Naked Prey meaning, oddly enough, "naked prey." The bands original name was Beautiful Loser consisting of Claudio, Travis, Nate Kelley and Jon Carleo, but after disputes amongst the band members Travis left the band and the remaining three members formed Shabütie. Carleo left the band mid-late '96 and Michael Todd was brought in to play the bass; Todd was a guitarist but played bass specifically for Shabütie when he was brought in. After releasing their second EP in '99, Travis rejoined the band in the guitarist's position; later in the year losing Kelley on drums and replacing him with Josh Eppard.
Claudio was writing a science-fiction story at the time (and it's still going now) called The Bag.On.Line Adventures (renamed The Amory Wars later on). While on a trip to Paris the band members decided to change their name from Shabütie to Coheed and Cambria two protagonists (man and wife) from the story line of The Amory Wars.
In 2002 Co&Ca released their first studio album called The Second Stage Turbine Blade, followed by In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 (2003), Good Apollo: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness (2005), Good Apollo: No World For Tomorrow (2007) and Year of the Black Rainbow (2010).
Following the release of Claudio's side project's (The Prize Fighter Inferno) album release in October of 2006, Josh Eppard and Michael Todd left the band for personal reasons. Matt Williams (the band's drum tech) and Michael Petrak to fill in for a number of their shows. In mid-2007 Michael Todd rejoined the band and a few months later so did Chris Pennie on drums (formerly of Dillinger Escape Plan). Because of contractual obligations with Pennie's previous label he was unable to appear on No World For Tomorrow. Instead, Coheed enlisted the help of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins who made use of several ideas Pennie had written with Claudio. Chris does appear on their newest release Year of the Black Rainbow.

First and foremost, I am the biggest Zooey Deschanel fanboy. I love her. I think she is just absolutely beautiful and I love every movie she's been in from Hitchhiker's Guide to Yes Man.
This is She & Him's second album. Their first was called (obviously) Volume One. They're sound is a mixture between pop, folk, indie, down to alt-country. She & Him consist primarily of Deschanel and M. Ward, but they incorporate other session players and members to fill in for backing vocals and the other instruments associated with their style. They originally began creating music together via e-mail with Zooey working in California and Ward working in Oregon.
This is a song from their second album, and I think it's a great song and a cute video. =3

If you're a fan of heavy metal and you don't know who Pantera are, you need to seriously sit down and try to figure out what the heck's wrong with you. Pantera have been active since 1981 with the original line-up of Vinnie Paul Abbott, Darrell Abbott, Terry Glaze, Tommy Bradford and Donnie Hart as lead vocalist. They were active up until 2003 after the band decided that Phil Anselmo had "officially abandoned Pantera and would not return."
This is the second album with vocalist Phil Anselmo as lead after losing the former Donnie Hart. This is also one of my favorite songs off of this album. Just have a listen.
