- One of my friends is studying abroad in China, so now pics of him and his Beijing friends are starting to pop up on Facebook. I want Beijing friends too! 我想找北京朋友。我希望明年赶快来了！ :(
- My Modern Democracies class is doing an excellent job of demonstrating how ignorant I am, haha. The class is maybe 70% seniors, and they are damn smart. I hardly understand what they're talking about half the time. I don't know shit about foreign governments, that's why I'm in this class! How am I supposed to know that presidential governments "allow horizontal movement from the private to the public sector, whereas parliamentary gov't only allows vertical movement from lower to higher positions in politics." WTF, am I in a Geometry class or something? Is the British Parliament moving along the y-axis?? My saving grace is that I can parrot the reading somewhat well, so if the prof wants the class to recall something from the text, I can vaguely do that for him. :D
- I've been having major L'Arc~en~Ciel nostalgia the past few days. I've been digging up a lot of their older songs, the ones from when their entire discography was very pop and/or heavily influenced by New Wave. (Believe it or not, one of their biggest inspirations early on was The Cure.) This was also back when hyde looked like a young Puerto Rican woman. :3
hyde's lipstick is terrible in this, haha. It's interesting how I haven't listened to this song (or any of their older songs, for that matter) in years, but I still remember the lyrics relatively well. I've been digging up old Gackt & Shiina Ringo songs lately too, and the lyrics just immediately pop up into my head. If only my memory were that good with Chinese characters. >_>;;
