If there's one thing I DON'T like about this...

...it's that I never seem to be able to sleep earlier than midnight. It's currently 1:30AM Ohio time and I only JUST got done with my assignment. Which would be less annoying if I didn't feel all salty over the fact that, despite everything, I can still be so bad at writing essays. APPARENTLY, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WRITE CONCLUSIONS. :(((

So yeah. I should probably head to bed now. (Especially since I think I might've just woken my roommate up.) @_@;;

See you guys in a week~ :P

Yeah, so I'm posting like mad now because I know I probably won't be able to until Friday come tomorrow morning. >_>;

So basically, the big impression I'm getting from this program is that it's a good opportunity for me to start being a little more daring. Because I'm a very "comfort zone" type person, but I've realized that the only way I can become stronger or more interesting or more stable of a person is if I start stepping out of that zone. And honestly, I'm pretty pathetic when it comes to many things non-academic or non-geeky, but the only way I'll get any better is if I stop being so damn ashamed of my weaknesses and just keep working at it.

SO. All that said, if this past week is how the next four years will be like, then I think I will be quite happy here. :)

After posting yesterday, I dropped by the Craft Center, which was technically closed, but the pottery teacher was in there cleaning clay that was dug up from the campus grounds. Then she showed me some pieces she and her students made and then talked about glazing for a while. Then she let me work on the wheel! And once I made my little bowl, she said she was impressed because most high school pottery students don't get to the point of making decent-looking vessels. ^-^

And I finally learned how to bowl last night! :D :D

Once I learned how to hold up the ball properly, I was (surprisingly) a natural at it. Except I started to fizzle out at the end of the second game because my arm got tired, BUT STILL.

And then afterwards, I played/karaoke'd on Rock Band for the first time with a bunch of other dorm people. And I woke up at 11-ish again this morning. >_>;;

EDIT: OH, and a quick word about the aforementioned Eccentric New Yorker: I think most people here are uncomfortable by his brazen flamboyance, although I find it mostly endearing for reasons that I still can't quite comprehend. (To put it in perspective, he uses words like "fabulous" and "trifling heffers" & greets the other guys by saying, "hey bitches." MAJOR LOL @ that last one BTW.) And he just looooves me for being a cute little Asian girl who laughs all the time, so hey. I'm totally not complaining.

EDIT #2: OH, and the Male Chicagoan caught me playing the ever17 visual novel trial that I downloaded a couple days back, and forced me to send him the file. FOURTEEN HOURS LATER, AND IT IS STILL SENDING.

BECAUSE THIS TOTALLY DESERVES ITS OWN POST

I like how I drop by the dbsg comm for the first time in days and I'm immediately greeted by this:

CLEARLY THIS FANDOM LOVES ME.

いま pooped outの 感じを 感じます。@_@

Man was this a busy week. To sum up quick since I have to get ready for lunch by half an hour-ish:

  • Writing workload lessened towards the end of the week, though they compensated for that by giving more reading :/
  • Went to the Latino Festival in Columbus, where one of the food booths got shut down by the health department right before the majority of the group made it to the front of the line. Luckily, I ordered from the safe seafood booth. ^-^
  • Had a couple heart-to-heart talks with one of my professors, one that was mostly about English in general and her interesting college experiences & another concerned an assignment I failed magnificently due to misreading of Beloved. (Long story.)
  • Was assigned my internship yesterday, and I'll be working on two projects: one with administration that involves analyzing statistics & an undisclosed project with a cultural psychologist. :OOO
  • Last night after attending a failparty in the Commons building next door (also long story), one of the guys invited my roommate and I to watch a movie on the second floor. And she and I were just like, "Nah, we're tired." Then comes the Eccentric New Yorker of our group as well as the Male Chicagoan, and we end up talking about high school & colleges & the differences between krumping and juking (which was awkward) & Korea for hours. And when the rest of the group came down after watching the movie, we were still talking. >_>;;
  • I was worried about oversleeping and missing breakfast this morning. I woke up at 11:30 AM. Yeah.

And my RA was telling us about foam parties and I seriously hope he was kidding about people having sex in it because that is just disgusting. :(((

GAH

THE FIRST DAY IN AT KENYON, AND I'M ALREADY BURIED UNDER MY WORKLOAAAADDD. HERE IS MY DAILY SCHEDULE:

8:30-10:00 AM class

12:30-2:00 PM class

7:00-9:00 PM TA session

AND I BET A LOT OF YOU ARE LIKE "wtf that doesn't sound that bad you're just a whiny little loser" BUT THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE MEALS AND INTERNSHIPS AND I GET SO MUCH WORK TO DO BETWEEN CLASSES THAT I GET HARDLY ANY FREE TIME. SO STFU. :(((

But otherwise, everything's been good. :DDD

Everyone here is really nice, and even though I'm busy as heck, it's surprisingly easy to adjust to the whole dorm life thing. I also like that I can drop in on my super nice and helpful RA (which, from what I've heard, is unusual in itself xD) anytime I need help with something. :D

So yeah. I'm going to go do more homework now. :((

(To the fangirls: plz to update me on the goings-on of the boys, so that when I get the chance to read comments, it'll be a dong bang explosion. :OOO)
