That reminds me to get a haircut as well. I feel as if my hair grows as fast as weeds. I'll admit, that if you achieve that look that you're going for, it'll look great.
And free candy can be a plus, hey? (unless it's those really old granny candies--all of them dusty and stuck together).

Well yeah, people do go to the movies or events going around the school and stuff, but it's more like other people go do that stuff and then go to parties rather than just one or the other, you know? Thankfully, all of my really close friends aren't big party people either, so we usually somehow find ways to entertain ourselves until the wee hours anyway. (As you've seen through my posts. xD)
Hmm... it's more like people at Kenyon are respectful when it comes to iffy topics like drinking rather than being sociable in general. No one's ever told me that I should drink, but some of my friends from over the summer have tried to convince me to go to parties more. But I think that's more just b/c I'm their friend rather than them feeling responsible for making others more sociable or something. People who don't know me very well just let it go. xD
And no... no one steals my food. Don't you know by now that EVERYONE is exceedingly nice to me? :3

Well... I guess how difficult it is to adjust depends on the type of person you are. There are some in my class who are freaking out already and are all like, "ARGGGHHHH MUST ESCAPE RRRRRRRRRGHHH DETROIT URBAN RAHHHHHHHH," but then there are others like Eccentric NYer who are extremely sociable & come from a big city and are able to fit in quite well. I find the main complaint from the people who want to transfer are because they're minorities and feel alienated from the general population (luckily not my problem) or people who feel that they need to be in a big university or big city in order to really experience life or not be babied so much (since prof/student and even general student/student relationships are unusually close at Kenyon) or to be around more diverse student populations, etc. etc.
As for drinking and partying, although that is the main thing people at Kenyon do on weekend nights... honestly, the danger of partying, drinking, and doing drugs seems like something that's unavoidable no matter which college you go to anyway. I hear from old classmates that even in U of Chicago (WHERE THE FUN SUPPOSEDLY GOES TO DIE) they still party harty, and the stories I've heard of what goes down at Ohio State and U of Cincinatti are waaaay worse than what I hear happens at Kenyon parties. Luckily, at Kenyon people are really accepting of people who don't drink or party (i.e. me), so you can definitely get away with not doing any of that. But even so, I occasionally get spastic, unprovoked moments of "GOD I MUST BE SO NAIVE/SHELTERED/LOSERISH SINCE I'VE NEVER GOTTEN DRUNK OR HIGH BEFORE!!" Although thankfully, they tend to be very temporary and people seem to like the fact that I don't do any of that stuff, since I'm too cute and innocent or whatever. >_>;;
