Very very tentative:
PSCI 101Y.05 The Quest for Justice
MWF 9:10 am-10:00 am
INST 131.00 China in Transition
TR 9:40 am-11:00 am
CHNS 111Y.00 Intensive Intro Chinese
MTWRF 12:10 pm-1:00 pm (not including TA sessions)
PHIL 110.00 Introduction to Ethics
WF 2:10 pm-3:30 pm
So basically, I'll be learning a lot of shit about China. Not taking Japanese because the class interferes with Quest for Justice, which is a class I HAVE to take since I'm thinking of being a Political Science major w/ an Asian Studies concentration. (Also very tentative.) At least learning Chinese characters will help supplement kanji reading ability, though my Japanese skills will probably deteriorate in every other area. >_>;;
I really hope this schedule works out because it's pretty perfect for me; pretty well spread out throughout the week and no 8AM classes! :D
Some recommendations for future first year college students who will go through this same process: do your course planning well before orientation so that you have a better chance of getting into the classes you want. Even though you can't register early, you can get in good with professors by emailing them about your interest in their class and even meeting with them on campus if possible. And I also recommend having ratemyprofessor and your campus map on different tabs while planning courses, the latter especially if you are considering classes that are very closely spaced. And if you know upperclassmen, then definitely use them! :OO
Regarding lifestuff: group went blueberry picking at a farm yesterday, then Eccentric New Yorker, Male Chicagoan, and I got treated to free donuts, zucchini bread, sourdough bread and jam at the local farmer's market. (Unlike in Chicago, this was, like, an actual farmer's market with Amish-looking people selling goods.) And so much behind-the-doors drama has been ensuing in the dorm that we would probably make a decent reality tv show. (And yeah, I'm involved in some of it. D:) Though one nice thing that happened last night was that Snarky Baltimore Boy decided to be kind and kicked four other people out of my room last night so that I could go to sleep. (Since I'm too wimpy and nice to do it myself. DD:) And I think he did it b/c he heard me talking to Eccentric New Yorker the night before about how I was getting annoyed with Korea Girl for always being in my room and talking to my roommate when I wanted to sleep. :(
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, Eccentric New Yorker likes Jaejoong! :DD:D:DD
I showed him this picture and he was all, "He's gorgeous! :OOO" And I was like, "I know! He's my faaaaavorite!" And Korea Girl doesn't hate DBSK as much as I assumed she did (she actually seems to like Junsu), since we both watched all of their Star Show appearance last night. And then New Yorker Girl walked in and was all, "I HAVE A FRIEND WHO'S OBSESSED WITH THOSE GUYS." omg everyone loves them! :O
*will now go to email a few more professors then see The Dark Knight for free~* :D
EDIT: OH, and Korea Girl said the boys' Korean interviews are waaaay funnier in Korean, since they use lots of puns. So us sub readers have been severely missing out all this time. :(((
