So as many of you know, I have a crush on a certain boy in my dorm hall. If I were not so scared of being overly-optimistic on the matter, I would say that the two of us are on a solid path towards eventual dating... but since I'm too scared to be 100% sure of it, I'll just say that the two of us have been doing very well. To sort of quickly sum things up:
- My roommate knows. She's been very kind and hasn't said anything to me about it, but one friend of mine from the summer made a bunch of implications that I like someone in her presence, which was shortly followed by the incident I describe below, which was then followed by the incident I describe further below. :D?
- There's one guy in my dorm building who I had a feeling was suspicious of the two of us from the get-go, since he always makes insinuations about the two of us. So yesterday morning, I was woken up by a knock on the door, though I tried to ignore it and pretended to still be sleeping. My roommate opened the door and Mr Insinuator was there, saw that I was asleep, and immediately launched into, "Hey, did you know that (Bell) and (DHB) were up all last night talking?"
And my roommate was like, "Really..."
"Yeah. I think the two of them, like... like each other. Because they're always talking. They're probably gonna start going out soon, I can feel it."
I was caught between severe annoyance that he was telling my roommate this "behind my back" and manic joy that someone else would think the two of us are heading down that path. Not that I could express either since I was, you know, pretending to be asleep.
- I cried a little in front of him last night. Not serious bawling or anything, but enough that he was very very gentle in talking to me. He was smiling at me most of the time, but there was one instance where he was staring at me with a more serious expression on his face, and I couldn't hold his gaze. I don't know, I guess it's little things like that that make me wonder if there was anything deeper behind it.
- He bought three fish from Wal-Mart and temporarily named them after us. He told me, "This one is named Alyssa because it looks like it swims fast and she's a swimmer. This one is named Nicolyn because it's bug-eyed and she's bug-eyed. (A joke of course.) And this one is named after you because it makes me smile."
Funnily enough, the other two fishes died within twenty four hours and only I currently survive LOL.
EDIT: Oh, and he's very persistent on learning how to say "dong bang shin ki" properly, haha. And he once did an impression of Chinese boybands for me and it was the funniest shit ever.
