Just some general stuff & a couple things I forgot to mention last post:
1. I 4SRS CAN'T SEE. I don't think I stressed enough how bad this whole lost-my-glasses thing is... I have horrible vision. Like, I am currently wearing my friend's glasses that help me see things a tiny bit better and my head is a foot away from the screen BUT EVEN THEN the text I'm typing right now is still a little blurry to me. IT'S TERRIBLE.
And classes have been that much more troublesome for me b/c of it, especially since I had so much work to do for my classes yesterday. The one good thing is that Kenyon has its reading days this week, which basically means that there's no school today and tomorrow, but I'll still have to go through my classes blind early next week. (The projected pick up date for my new glasses is the 15th.) :(
2. Time management is such an issue for me right now. I do my work in time and manage to get to my classes and all that, but doing anything outside of schoolwork is SUCH a struggle for me. I haven't read fic since I got here! And I'm way behind in my stained glass class b/c I couldn't make it to a couple classes. :(
Thing is, it doesn't even seem as if I have a lot of work when I think about it... it sort of feels like if it were anyone else in my shoes, they wouldn't be working so much, but because it's me and I'm hella slow, it takes a long time. I'm a really slow reader and two of my classes assign reading every class, so I basically spend hours and hours reading every night and IT TAKES FREAKING FOREVER. Chinese takes up a crapload of time too since I have to study it on my own time everyday or else I'll fall behind, and Econ isn't quite as intense, but it still takes up time...
But as I said, a lot of my classmates seem to work faster, so they don't spend nearly as much time on the same stuff. And I just don't know how to make myself work faster. :(
I guess the good thing is, even though I sometimes bitch about things and I'm shattering personal records for lack of sleep due to schoolwork and hours spent studying straight, I'm actually not miserable about how much work I have to do. I'm overall very very happy despite all the work I have to do and I feel SO much more disciplined now than when I was in high school.
3. I think it's both a good and bad thing that I usually study with DHB b/c he keeps me on task or off task depending on the situation, haha. Sometimes we distract each other for hours and hours talking or looking things up online, or on the flip side, he pushes me to finish my work instead of dozing off during the wee hours of the morning.
And last Monday night, he ended up chasing down a classmate of mine to ask what my reading was for the next day. It was like:
Him: *running across campus* I THINK I SEE HIM
Me: OMG WAIT UP
Him: HEY YOU..... CHINA IN TRANSITION PERSON!!
Me: AHH Y U DO DIS
Him: YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOUR HW IS D:
Me: BUT I DON'T WANNA KNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWbecause I have so much other homework to do T_T
Him: DAMN IT, THAT GUY WASN'T HIM
Me: YAY
4. I mentioned a while back that there's this one guy in my dorm hall who insinuates a bunch of stuff whenever he sees DHB & I together. He's toned it down recently, but a couple nights ago, he walked past the open door to my room, saw DHB talking to me from my roommate's bed (her bed is right behind my computer chair), then crept in and started gesturing at me (DHB had his back to him). And at first I was just like wtf is he doing... until I noticed he was making the same motions over and over again: he would point to me, then to DHB, then make a heart symbol. I just pretended to be confused until DHB spotted him and he stopped gesturing. >_>;
My fav song from Mirotic. :D
