"I hope that basketball will become more popular as many Korean fans come to the East Asian Super League (EASL) games. I will do my best to help our players perform better and increase their popularity."

Park Ji-hoon (29) saved Anyang Jeonggwanjang.

Park Ji-hoon played in the third-place match against the New Taipei Kings in the 2023-24 EASL Final 4 held at Cebu?s Dome in the Philippines on the 10th, and played 29 points, eight rebounds, and three steals, including three three-point shots. After a close game with the Kings until the end of the game, Jeonggwanjang led by Park Ji-hoon became the winner with 78-76 victory.

Park Ji-hoon, who met with reporters after the game, said, "I feel so good that I won. All the players worked hard until the end and were able to win thanks to their concentration."

Park Ji-hoon's performance on the day was truly remarkable. His field goal success rate reached a whopping 70.59 percent. He overwhelmed the Kings with efficiency that allowed for every shot. He scored his first eight points alone, and kept his scoring sense until the end of the fourth quarter when he faced a crisis. "He had a great shooting sense before the game. My trainer was stretching, and I was like, 'You look a little soft today.' That's why I felt good. I also wanted to win the last game of EASL," Park said. "I'm glad that things went well." 스포츠토토

As it was a fierce victory, there was a crisis, and there was also the pleasure of winning at the end of the game. Park Ji-hoon said, "The team's defense concentration declined when the score gap was widened. The Kings tried to make the attack as difficult as possible, but they failed to do so, allowing them to shoot comfortably, increasing their success rate. So I think they will have a tough game until the end," he said. "But I still saw our foreign players defend until the end. I felt that they maintained good concentration. I didn't think I would win, but I thought, 'Our team has good concentration. If we concentrate a little more, we can win.'"

Joseph Lynn was a younger brother of Jeremy Lynn, who left a mark in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as an Asian player. He was also the ace player who led the team in the semifinal against the Chiba Jets. "I've watched the EASL games that the Kings have played. I've watched the last Jets game," Park said. "Joseph Lynn is a good player in shooting, dribbling, and passing. I thought we should not let him (play comfortably). He pressured him to make every play as difficult as possible. I thought it would be more advantageous if he became embarrassed when it comes to game management. Of course, I learned a lot from watching Joseph Lynn. There were many things I felt. He was a very good player."

The event was held in Cebu, the Philippines. Not all four teams are from the Philippines, but President Chung's lens, Abando, received the most support from the Philippines. Park Ji-hoon said he was motivated by the presence of such teammates. "Many Filipino fans came even though the group stage of the last EASL in the Philippines and the Final Four were not there. I think it is because basketball is the representative sport of the Philippines," Park said. "Many fans come to the regular league in Korea." However, it was not the case in EASL games. Of course, there must be many situations and conditions. Still, I hope more Korean fans will come to the EASL game, making basketball more popular."

Of course, the success depends on the players' play. "We will do our best to help our players perform better and increase their popularity in the EASL," Park said. "We will also do our best to get more attention so that even one more fan can come to the stadium when a game is held in Korea. Please show us your support."
