As the title implies, I created this just for fun. ^_^ I mainly intend to use this as a means to jot down whatever comes to mind, and (provided that I feel like it) put down some stuff on history. I'll try not to be too judgemental about topics that tend to be extremely sensitive like politics. (No, no, scratch that--especially politics.)

As a side note, I'm also going to start using this as a means to announce when I have updated my story Tides of Fate or anything else related to it.

For those wondering what I look like, here's a picture!

(Surprised that I'm still not showing my real face? Too bad! >D *evil laughter*)

Thank you for your time, and have a wonderful day!

Belle

Please note that this picture is not of my own invention. I only added the rose border to it. (I personally think it's a nice touch though. ^^) Enjoy!

Veteran's Day

Whether anyone knows this or not, I have a deep respect for the military and what they stand for--even if what they do isn't nearly as "glamourus" as Hollywood loves to flaunt off.

As promised on my e-card of the same name, below is a video to Donald Duck's "the Vanishing Private." (Please note that, as with the post before this, the video is not of my own creation/modification. The real creator goes by the username "Varioubal.")

I'm also going to post this mini-poster that I made for all of you military folks out there. Enjoy!

Dancing Queens

Warning! Content contains a Kindom Hearts parody of Lucky Star, so for those who are not familiar with both may not catch some of the details.

Anyway, I found this video on YouTube and was cracking up the entire time. XD I won't give out details because I'd rather you see it for yourself, so let's just say that I'll never be able to look at a few of the characters the same way for quite some time to come. Enjoy! (By the way, the creator of this video goes by the alias "mozz640")

Kitty

Actually, this little post is on the sabertooth tiger--I just felt like giving it a misleading name.

Anyway, I managed to catch an episode of Evolve on the History channel yesterday and learned this from it:

  • they dominated a huge chunk of the Ice Age
  • the average size of their saber teeth is eight inches; the lions and tigers of today average about three inches
  • the average sabertooth tiger could open it's mouth a good 110 degrees; HOWEVER, the gap between their saber teeth and their lower jaw was only three inches
  • in theory, it's main method of kill was to aim for the thoat since that caused the best damage (whoa--oximoron much? -_-;)
  • they could kill their prey within seconds and avoid scavengers from snatching their food altogether (which is very different from the lions of today, who take about five minutes to successfully kill their prey)
  • one of two things happened to contribute to their extinction: either the change in climate wiped them out, or they were out-competited by mankind's earliest ancestors
  • Oh yeah--and their scientific name is "smilodon", which literally sounds like "SMILE-oh-don" (this made me giggle a little bit throughout the episode)

Hope this was of interest. Later!

Here's a painting of a smilodon (*giggles*) by Charles R. Knight, via Wikipedia, in all it's fierce glory:

Center of the Universe

You know that saying that states, "you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone?" Well, this past week--even though I tried not to let it get to me--my mom has been in California for training. It wasn't until we were reunited a few hours ago that I realized how much I missed her. (You think Tohru's got a big mother complex? I top her any day. I have a big father and grandparent complex too, but that's another story altogether. )

So, even though she doesn't have an account on this site, I'll end this post by simply saying:

Welcome back, Mommy! I love you! (*tackle-glomps*)
