Thirst. She knew what she wanted. Blood. Saru stumbled through the school's hallways, her school uniform stained with blood. Everyone, teachers, students, facultymembers, stared at her as she wandered the hallways, dazed. Then, she heard screaming. Saru turned and everyone was pointing at something in her direction, screaming and running. She looked behind herself. Nothing there. She looked back and the only one that still stood was her best friend, Shinzo Tengoku. She was staring wide eyed at her, gawking at Saru. It seemed as though she was looking past her. Saru then realized that she was the danger, the threat. Her eyes, gleaming crimson, her hair blood red, her pale skin, vampire teeth...
Saru jolted upright, as though something shocked her. She was breathing heavily, her face flustered in the dark. She looked out side her bedroom window, then back at her clock. it was 12:06 in the morning. She sighed and flopped back down onto the pillows. She pulled the comforter over her head. "Only a dream, only a dream. No one's knows..." she whispered into the covers, beads of sweat dotting her forehead. She was spazzing out over a dream. Se felt ridiculous. What a stupid idea, someone knowing... she thought to herself.
Morning woke her. She leaped out of bed, her aching throat telling her what she did not want to know. She ran to the bathroom in front of the mirror, and groaned in horror. Her eyes were bright crimson, skin ivory colored, hair silver. This is the result of her bewildering thirst.
"Naka! I need blood!" Her sister, Nakamura Chiaki, rushed into the bathroom, and gasped.
"Saru! You had that dream again, didn't you?" Naka demanded. Saru nodded, flushing.Naka grabbed her hand, pulling her down the steps and out the back door, out into the tall grass.
"Naka, I can't--"
"I don't care! Just go find a rabbit or someting, I can't leave the house to hunt anymore!" And with that, Naka raced back to the house, barely visible. Saru looked back to the grass, closing her eyes. She then smelled that mouth watering flavor in the air. Her eyes flashed open right as she leaped up into the air. She snatched a raven strait out of the air. The bird screeched, but Saru snapped it's neck, killing it instantly. Her long, canine like teeth dug into the birds neck, drinking it's bool, her eyes, fierce with thrirst, drained the creature of all it's fluids. She dropped the carcass, teeth dripping with blood.
She looked back over at the house, eyes still glowing crimson. Naka was watching her from the window. She smiled, baring her teeth.
