The fact that she said yes and with a smile at that left me in shock. I had expected her to say no. What an interesting human she was. I looked down at her wrist and kissed her veins. Then I bit down and tasted the sweet honey that was her blood. I heard her sharp intake on breath at the initial pain, but I knew it would fade quickly. The power of a vampires saliva worked wonders. I listened to her heart beat carefully. I needed to be sure I didn't take too much, but God was I hungry. I heard her heart beat harder and her breath become somewhat shallow. I forced myself to stop. I licked the two small pin pricks in her wrist and they instantly closed. "I'm sorry. I took more than I wanted." She was pale now. Probably tired as well. So I picked her up. Her eyes widened. "W..what are you doing?" I smiled. "I feel much better now. But I'm afraid I made you weak, and we still have quite a ways to go to the next town." All the blood I drank and she still had enough to fill her face. I guess humans were cute.
