"Slayers" to get a fourth season

For anyone who with the capabilities to think back further in time to before phenomenons such as Naruto and Death Note turned anime into near main-stream titles, this is big news. According to the April 2008 edition of Dragon Magazine, the anime show Slayers is going to resume this autumn with a new season!

Based off of the light-novel series of the same name, Slayers is an anime centering around a young sorceress named Lina Inverse. Lina, along with her group of mismatched friends, travel around in a RPG-esque world of magic, demons and saving the world from the brink of destruction. The last series, Slayers TRY, finished airing in 1997, eight years after creator Hajime Kanzaka first began to pen the novels. There had been rumor of a fourth anime season, but like the infamous Dragonball Z live-action movie theory, it was only a myth until recently.

As of late, there is no conformation as to the cast. There was even no say as to whether Lina Inverse would be voiced by Megumi Hayashibara, who loaned her voice to Lina in the rest of her adventures.

Slayers has been licensed in English by TokyoPop, Central Park Media and FUNimation.

...and may I ask the question: Will Amelia and Gourry ever run into Naga this season? We can only hope.
