Speed Racer Announced for Distribution on Crunchyroll

Big news today Crunchyroll the video-streaming website (which we all know Ichigo loves so very much) has announced today that it will offer the Speed Racer animated series via ad-supported, subscription, and download-to-own video services. The press release states that the car-racing series will be available to watch starting today, but only three trailers for this year's live-action movie, the original opening theme, and an anime music video are on the website as of 6:00 p.m. ET. In addition to online streaming, the website plans to offer both individual episodes and digital "boxsets" with special extras through a download-to-own service. The downloads in this service will have no digital rights management (DRM).

Idol Singer Shoko Nakagawa to Perform at Anime Expo

Anime Expo has announced that otaku personality/singer/actress Shoko "Shokotan" Nakagawa will perform at the July 3-6 convention at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Nakagawa debuted as the grand prize winner of the Popolo Girl Audition in 2001, but her popularity among otaku took off when she launched her blog in 2004.She sang theme songs for the Eyeshield 21, Hakaba Kitarō, Yoshimune, and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann anime series.

Yaoi Jamboree Hosts Artists Eiki Eiki, Mikiyo Tsuda

The Yaoi Jamboree convention has announced that the boys-love manga artists Eiki Eiki and Mikiyo Tsuda will attend its inaugural June 20-22 event in Phoenix, Arizona. Eiki Eiki conceived and drew Dear Myself, The Art of Loving, World's End, and other manga titles. Tsuda created The Day of Revolution, Family Complex, and Princess Princess (pictured at right), which was televised as both an anime series and a live-action drama series. Tsuda also co-created Color and other manga with Eiki under her other pen name, Taishi Zaou. In fact the two creators share a website called Kozouya. Digital Manga Publishing, which has released or announced all the above titles except Color in North America, is sponsoring the two artists' appearance.
