Anime Expo to Host Musical Duo Jyukai

Anime Expo has announced that the Japanese pop musical duo Jyukai will perform at the July 3-6 event at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California. Vocalist Manami and composer Yoshiaki Dewa formed the duo in the summer of 2004 and performed the ending theme "Anata ga Ita Mori" for the Fate/stay night television anime just a year later. They continued to sing television anime theme songs for Ah! My Goddess: Flights of Fancy, Buso Renkin, and the Aa Megami-sama: Tatakau Tsubasa special. They also sang the opening theme for Mamoru Oshii's live-action Shin - Onna Tachigui Retsuden film.

Love My Life, Koji Kawano's live-action version of Ebine Yamaji's yuri romance manga of the same title, will be featured at this year's Ft. Lauderdale Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. It will play at the Sunshine Cinemas at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 at the Gateway Cinema 4. The DVD release of this award-winning film will follow on July 8 from Wolfe Video, a distributor that specializes in gay- and lesbian-themed cinema. This film revolves around the relationship of two college girls and the complications that arise between the couple and their families. It previously screened in Los Angeles in December.

Spider-Man Co-Creator Stan Lee Interviewed on Ultimo

Otaku USA editor Patrick Macias has posted an audio interview with Spider-Man and X-Men co-creator Stan Lee in which they discuss Karakuridōji Ultimo and Lee's Japanese connections. Ultimo is Lee's manga collaboration with Shaman King's Hiroyuki Takei which will debut in Shueisha's Jump SQ.II inaugural magazine this Friday. Lee will be discussing the project on the same day at a press event in New York Comic Con. The story revolves around two super-powered mortal enemies who clash in the skies over unsuspecting Farmless City. Lee and Takei have been collaborating on the story; Takei is writing the script first in Japanese, and Lee will adapt the script for the American release.
