Japanese national team wins 5-0 over powerhouse Paraguay

The gap between Korean soccer and Japan is widening.

The Japanese Olympic team defeated Paraguay 5-0 at the first preliminary match of Group D of the men's soccer team for the 2023 Paris Olympics, which took place in Bordeaux, France at 2 a.m. on Saturday . Japan has become the top team in the group.

Japan's midfielder Sunsuke Mito scored multiple goals and performed very well. Shota Fujio, who replaced him in the second half, also scored two goals to lead Japan to a landslide victory. Main midfielder Koki Saito led the Japanese attack with two assists.

Paraguay's early exit from midfielder Viera in the 25th minute of the first half was a negative factor. In the end, Paraguay, where 10 people fought, failed to use their power properly and suffered a crushing defeat.

At the Paris Olympics, Japan is seriously trying to win a medal. With Mali and Israel in the same group tied 1-1, chances are high that Japan will advance to the final round as the top of the group.

At the men's soccer bronze medal match at the 2012 London Olympics, Korea led by Coach Hong Myung-bo beat Japan 2-0 due to consecutive goals scored by Park Chu-young and Koo Ja-cheol. Korea, which won at the match between Korea and Japan, achieved the highest record in men's soccer history. 슬롯사이트

Twelve years later, however, Japan has overtaken Korea far away. The Korean Olympic team, led by Hwang Sun-hong, lost 10-11 in the quarterfinals of the U23 Asian Cup after being tied 2-2 by Shin Tae-yong's Indonesia in overtime in April.

As a result, Korea failed to advance to the Olympic finals for the first time in 40 years since the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. He also ended his consecutive appearances in the ninth inning.

It was a symbolic event of the deterioration of Korean soccer. Hwang was not able to concentrate on the Olympic team as he served as interim coach of the A-team. "Age-based national teams should be run every four years," Hwang said.

Even after failing to advance to the Olympics, however, the Korea Football Association has yet to come up with any countermeasures. Korean teams including men's soccer failed to advance to the Paris Olympics in all ball games except women's handball.

The Paris Olympics will kick off on Saturday, but people cannot fully feel the enthusiasm of the Olympics in Korea. Soccer fans are sighing at the news of Japan's good performance.
