So a while back, I was looking for someone to make the cover for my second book to my trilogy, and I ended up finding this husband and wife team who were in a small business of making them for writers like myself. They went by the name Cover Creations. Now what was so incredible about them was that for every cover they made, the fee they charged was donated to a charity to help make special books for children with cancer. They would make books with the child's pictures being whatever they wanted to be, from firefighters to dancers to princesses. They did a wonderful job with my cover, and I was more then willing to pay the fee (Thank goodness the bank that I'd been working at was around still, considering they are now closed down.) Unfortunately, the wife has become very ill now, so they can't do it anymore. But it was still a beautiful cause that I hope someone will soon take over and continue.
Here's the finished cover for my book:
First off, I wanted to thank Judai for your awesome support in my posts. You're a wonderful friend and I'm so glad to have met you on here, just as I know many others feel too
So I've been doing better now, and I thought I'd talk about my current project if anyone is interested. I've been writing for a while, and just last year I managed to finish my first trilogy book series, which I actually got published on Amazon. Considering that I'd never thought I would do that ever, I'm actually rather proud, especially considering The Beautiful Fallen has done fairly well overall. But I've been trying to expand from that world too, and somehow, I've found myself writing about a kid vampire. Honestly, I'm a little surprised myself that I'd write a vampire type story, considering that vampires stories themselves have been done so many times. But sometimes I think that inspiration is a strange thing. I have to wonder if that happens with anime and all too.
Yes, I'm kind of just writing about my odd thoughts with this as I work on a new book to add to my 'keep me busy' list, but I really do think about that whole inspiration thing too. Honestly, I'd love to be able to create characters like you see in Kuroshitsuji or Kamisama Kiss, or even Vampire Knight. I find it so incredible that you can come up with such complex characters and great story lines. I guess you could say that with the beautiful character designs, that's one of the things I love the most in anime and manga. There's no shortage of awesome things with them.
Before I start, I will say that this isn't something to say that I'm planning on ending myself. Actually, it's just more of me wanting to get off of my chest that things have been a bit difficult and it's been hard to deal lately. My illness has kind of taken over, and financially it's tough. But I keep trying to count blessings too, and keep trying to create things, including what I post on here. I'm grateful for all of those who seem to enjoy my work too. Hopefully things will get better soon, as I'm hoping for my friends who have had some tough times too. Just trying to keep our chins up, even while the world seems dark...
Well, to start off, this is actually the first real time doing anything like a blog, so forgive me if I sound silly. Like I said in my intro, I go by Misachan83 online, and I've been an anime and video game lover since I was fairly young. I'm also an author, and I just began publishing a little over a year ago. I've been with theotaku for a while, and I have to say that I love it here. I love seeing all of the amazing art that people share here, and it's fun sharing my own. I also love the fact that everyone seems so friendly here too. Anyway, so why Butterfly in the Dark? Well, part of it is my own visions of my soul (weird little mind thing), and the other is homage to one of my favorite anime characters, which you could probably guess from my image with the intro
Nice to meet everyone and I'll post more soon!
