Personality: She first appears to be a quiet and calm girl, but after one gets to know her, she seems like the big-sister type, caring and kind. She is always looking out for her friends and is very overprotective of them. She enjoys drawing as her most favorite hobby and is interested in books. And during her free time, she trains to prepare herself for the battle ahead and sometimes, she trains with Riiya, who she has adopted to be her little sister.

Kingdom Hearts
Kotori hails from Radiant Garden, what it was before it was turned into Hollow Bastion when the force from the Heartless experiments corrupted the world. As a 14-year-old, she lived with her older brother, Mizuki, who is a blacksmith and owns a weapon shop. She learns her swordplay techniques from Mizuki. She also has a best friend since they grew up together, he has vowed to protect her ever since. When Ansem the Wise is banished from Radiant Garden, the world is overwhelmed by darkness. Her best friend is then announced missing and Kotori begins a search for him. Since the world is engulfed in darkness, she wanders in a black portal and is teleported to a new world. She falls from the sky into Traverse Town and has lost her memories. She meets Leon, Yuffie, Aerith, and Cid there. Soon, she encounters Sora, Donald, and Goofy who have been traveling to different worlds. Believing she can find the world she came from, she remembers where she is from, Hollow Bastion. When Sora puts the worlds back together by defeating Ansem and locking Kingdom Hearts, Kotori returns to Hollow Bastion and remembers more of her past.

Kotori is still unable to remember everything and loses her memories of Sora because of the events that are happening to Sora.
Kingdom Hearts II
Kotori, remembering bits and pieces, can only remember her name and little short clips of her past with a man who is unknown to her at the moment. When Sora arrives in Hollow Bastion, she remembers who he is. She gains more of her past in Hollow Bastion and is able to remember who she’s looking for, her best friend. Kotori sets out on another quest to find him.

Personality: Haneri is a quiet and calm girl that has a strong sense of protection, but she is seems fairly weak herself. Not much is known about her besides that she carries a sketchbook and a Heartless doll with her everywhere.

So here we have it, the profiles of both Kotori and Haneri. Haneri's name is deprived from "hane" which means "feather" (and a feather comes from a bird a.k.a. Kotori), and adding a nice sounding ending to it.
