Electioneering

I was this close to filing this under Moetan.

Canadian Federal Election today, May 2, and I kind of hoped to see some of my fellow Canadians in chat today. But given that the ones I had in mind are in various parts of the country (further east and further west than myself), and that the Federal Elections law forbids giving out early election results, it's probably a good thing I was the only one in chat. The penalty for breaking that law is a fine of $25K or 5 years in the bighouse (I'm not sure if that's an inclusive "or": either this or that, possibly both). Still, it was a tad lonely in chat, especially on a day that really meant something for Canadian politics: Majority government, new official opposition, and 2 other party leaders losing in their respective riding's. Plus, I still can't tell the real difference between the Leninist-Marxist party and the Communist party.

Ah well, maybe we can meet up again in the next 4 years! And Shin', I was going to make this into your honorary Canadian avatar: Magnificent Hockey Beard.
