Way back on October 28, 2011, I made a post my requesting a DVD from a library. Well, today the thing finally came in. Now that's what I call a queue. I'd requested a copy of the documentary Inside Job, which studies the 2008 economic meltdown in the US (which then spread to some degree worldwide). I can't believe it took this long for it to be free, but then again the list was fairly long when I first requested it. Maybe I'll post some thoughts on it after I've watched it.

Now for some other quick thoughts.

Nisemonogatari: When watching this I'm reminded of a something Marvin the Paranoid Android said to a mattress:

"You may not instantly see why I bring the subject up, but that is because my mind works so phenomenally fast, and I am at a rough estimate thirty billion times more intelligent than you. Let me give you an example. Think of a number, any number."

"Er, five," said the mattress.

"Wrong," said Marvin. "You see?"

I've watched up to ep.4 so far, and I'm still not really sure what it's about. It's kind of like having a conversation with some incredibly clever, witty person who refuses to slow down and make sense. It's not that bad though, so I'll stick with it for now.

Another: Me: "AAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHHH, why can't I get away from ALI PROJECT?!?!" (I'm also watching .hack//ROOTS, and the ED is also by ALI PROJECT). It's got lots of atmosphere and style, but very little in the way of genuine suspense or dread. But after watching the end of ep.3, I'm curious enough to see where this all goes - even if it crashes on the rocks, I'm gonna go down with the ship!

Ano Natsu de Matteru: Now where have I seen this before? Even though it's new, I've seen elements of it here and there in other mystical slice-of-life anime. It's fairly entertaining so far, but there's nothing really original going on. Aside from that, it shows some promise to be decent entertainment, just as long as you don't expect too much from it.

Kill Me Baby: Just plain stupid fun, and that's it. I can't ask for more, really. I also really like the ninja-girl Agiri Goshiki. I end with a picture.
