~*Miyuki*~
I woke up and rubbed my eyes. My head ached a little, but I couldn’t really remember what time I went to bed, so I thought that I probably just stayed up too late again. I looked at my wrist and my heart stopped. Where is my charm?! I looked in my bed for it, and then searched my floor. I noticed something shining on the dresser and I breathed a sigh of relief. I clipped it back on. Why was it off? I promised him I would never take it off. I got dressed and went out and grabbed an apple. “Good morning sunshine.” Mom smiled.
“Hi.” I greeted.
“Where are you going?” She asked.
“Kuori’s.”
“I thought so.” She grinned.
“Good grief mother stop trying to get me to ask him out, it’s not going to happen.” I got my phone out and texted him after I was almost to his house.
Where are you?
I’m in bed.
Why? His mom smiled and let me in the door.
I don’t feel good.
I’m coming in! I went down the hall and opened his door.
“Kuori…” I stopped when I saw how red his face was, and how exhausted he looked.
“Miyuki, really?” He asked. I went over and sat on the edge of his bed.
“I’m sorry I burst in like that.” I apologized.
“It’s alright.” He sighed.
“Have you ate yet?” I asked.
“Uh, no.” He said.
“Alright.” I got up and went out to the kitchen. “I’m making breakfast!” I said cheerily. His mom smiled.
“If you insist, do you want help?”
“No, I’ll be fine.” I said getting the pans out so I could make a decent amount of food. I made bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, and cinnamon rolls. When it was completely ready I went out to the living room and gave some to Kuori’s mom.
“Why, thank you Miyuki.” She smiled.
“No problem.” I went back out and took the rest of the food into Kuori’s room. He was laying on his bed in a hoodie and lounge pants. “I brought food!” I grinned.
“What if I don’t want any?”
“Why wouldn’t you?”
“I feel sick.”
“Well, maybe eating something will make you feel better.” I looked at his face and I felt bad for him. “Your face is so red.” I handed him a fork.”Please eat.” I asked. He sighed and took the fork. I grabbed mine and started eating too. It was quiet for a while and I broke the silence. “The strangest thing happened this morning. I got up and saw my charm wasn’t on my bracelet. It was on my dresser, do you remember me taking it off?” I asked.
“No.” He said.
“Strange. The day you gave it to me I swore I would leave it on forever, maybe it fell off and mom picked it up or something.”
“Maybe.” He said.
“I know you’re sick, but is something else bothering you? You seem, like, distracted or something. Was it something I said?”
“No…my head hurts is all.”
“Is there anything I can do, I just feel awful seeing you so sick.”
“No, it’s fine, I’m hoping to be better tomorrow. But I’m going to try to come to school today.”
“You’re sure? You look miserable.”
“Yeah, I’m sure.”
“Alright.” I picked up the platter and took it into the kitchen. “So, breakfast in bed, hope you liked it.”
“Yeah…thank you.” He said.
“It must be nice!” I grinned poking my head back into his room. “Maybe I’ll do it again for you sometime, your mother certainly seemed to enjoy it as well.”
“I’m sure she did.”
“Do you want me to wait for you to get completely ready for school?”
“Sure, I’ll drive us to school.”
“Ok.” I went out to the living room and plopped down on the couch.
“Thank you again for breakfast, you didn’t have to.” His mom said.
“Oh you’re welcome, it was no trouble really, I wanted to. He looked so sick and I thought it would help a little.”
“I’m sure it did.” She smiled.
“I signed up for the school play.”
“You did, what is it this year?”
“Romeo and Juliet, I signed up for Juliet.”
“That’s great, I hope you get the part.”
“Thanks!”
“So, ready to go?” Kuori asked walking out.
“Yeah.” I said. He said good bye to his mom and off to school we went. “So, guess what?”
“Hmm?”
“I signed up for Romeo and Juliet, for the lead role too.”
“Oh, did you see my name up on the sign up sheet?”
“No! No one was signed up when I checked…Uh…who did you sign up for?”
“Romeo.”
“You’re joking.”
“No.”
“Why would you sign up?”
“Because I wanted to do something.”
“I’ve just, never seen you act before.”
“Well, it’s worth a shot.”
“Yeah, but, what if we both get the main characters?”
“Then we play as the main characters.”
“Yeah.”
“It won’t be that hard.”
“No, I guess not.”
“Where do we have to pick up the play books so we can learn a couple of lines?” He asked.
“From The main office I think.”
“Alright.”
“You do know that it’s the entire thing we will be doing right?”
“Yea I know.”
“O-Ok.” I blushed.
“Do you know when we do auditions?”
“In a few days, after school.”
“Hopefully I won’t be sick still.”
“That would suck.” I ran my hand through my hair and thought about all the teasing they would get if they both did get the parts.
“We’ll try out for the parts, don’t worry about what others think.” We walked into the school and we grabbed our stuff from our lockers.
“You don’t think it will be weird, you know, between us?”
“No, I don’t think so.”
“Alright.” I smiled.
“Well, if I make it to lunch, I’ll see you.”
“Yep, will do.” I waved as he walked away, and I went to my first period class.
