-Kuori-
I walked to my class somewhat dragging my feet. I felt terrible and I wanted to go to sleep. I didn’t even know if I was going to make it through first period. I got into my class and sat down in my seat then put my head down on the desk top. I tried listening to what my teacher was saying but it wasn’t working at all. My head was throbbing.
“Kuori are you paying attention?” The teacher asked.
“I’m trying.” I muttered keeping my head up with my hand.
“Why don’t you go to the nurse.” He told me and I didn’t complain.
I got up and went to the nurse she was out of the room at the moment so I just laid down on the closest bed and closed my eyes.
“Kuori, when did you come in?” I heard the nurse ask and I opened my eyes.
“I think a few minuets.” I answered.
She put the back of her hand against my cheek. “I’m going to take your temperature.” She went over to the cupboards and got out one of those plastic flimsy thermometers and I stuck it under my tongue. After two minuets she took it from me and looked at it. “You have a 101 temperature. I’m going to call your mother.” She threw out the thermometer away washed her hands and called my mother.
I sat up on the bed and everything was spinning. “I need to go to my locker and get my stuff.” I said and slowly stood up.
“I’ll come with you then just in case.” The nurse stated and we walked to my locker and I got my things. She walked me to the office and my mom was there waiting for me.
“Are you all set to go?” My mom asked.
I looked over at the stack of Romeo and Juliet books and grabbed one. “Yea.” I said then started out to the car.
When my mom got me home I went right to my room and crawled under the covers. Just in case I put my phone under my pillow and fell asleep.
"K-kuori…you’re Zero?” Miyuki said backing up against the wall.
“Miyuki, I was going to tell you but…” I put a hand on her shoulder and she smacked it away.
“Stay away from me you liar.” She cried and pushed me.
Suddenly there was a ledge right behind me and I fell. I couldn’t wake up and it seemed like the ground was getting closer. When I moved my arms in front of my face I didn’t feel the impact of the ground and I didn’t wake up so I was still dreaming. I looked around to notice that I was a few inches away from the ground. “What’s going on?” I muttered and looked around.
“Well you should be a bit more careful.” I heard a chuckle I looked up and saw Zero holding onto my shirt. He lowered me down. “B-but how can you be here a-and talking to me. I-I don’t get it.” I said gripping my hair.
“I’m just a figment of your imagination Kuori. We’re still the same person but right now you’re so sick you wouldn’t know yourself from a whole in the ground.” He laughed. “That pill is working you just don’t realize it yet. You will when you feel better in a few days.” Zero stated.
“Wait what are you talking about a couple of days? What if we don’t have a couple of days and another object starts to act up again?” I asked.
“Well then hope that nothing happens within the next few days.” He waved and then everything went back.
I woke up to my pillow vibrating under my head again for the second time today. I looked at my alarm clock and saw that I would be in lunch right now. It must have been Miyuki texting me. I pulled my phone out and slid it open the closed again to unlock the screen.
Did you go home?
Yea I had a 101 temp so mom came and picked me up.
Wow I’m sorry.
What are you sorry for you didn’t get me sick.
I know but I asked you to come to school.
It’s fine I tried but I couldn’t even get past first period.
I’m sorry.
Hey don’t worry about me I should be better in a day or two if I just stay hydrated and get plenty of sleep.
I know. Well I’m going to let you go then so you can get back to sleep. And try to eat something.
Alright I will.
I’ll stop over after school.
Okay. I slide the phone closed and put it back under my pillow. I got up out of bed and went to the kitchen and got a bottle of water then back to my room and drank half the bottle of water and got back under the covers and instantly fell back asleep. It felt like the water cooled me down a bit and I wasn’t shivering yet.
