I waited for Kuori in my room. He knocked on my door and walked in. I patted the bed. “Come sit.” He did. “How are you feeling?”
“Fine.” I looked at him, and I could just tell that was a lie.
“You say you’re fine, but I see it in your eyes, you’re not.” I told him.
“I’m fine, really.” I took his hand in mine.
“Don’t lie to me. Your mom isn’t here and mine is downstairs.”
“How would you feel if your mother never told you that your real dad is dead?”
“I, I would be devastated.”
“That’s why mom worries when dad goes on business conferences.
“I had no idea.” I took his other hand and held it too. “But, who is it you think of when you say dad?”
“I-I don’t know.”
“Kuori, you grew up with your dad. Blood related or not, he is your father.”
“But still…”
“I know. Remember, I’m adopted. It hurts a lot wondering sometimes.”
“I don’t even know what he looks like, my mom told me I look just like him.”
“Then, look in the mirror.” I looked away. He knew who his real parents were. I didn’t have that. “I’ll never know about me Kuori. I was abandoned.”
“Miyuki, you remind me a lot of your mother now. Who cares who your real parents were, the main thing is that your parents love you and you are their daughter.”
“Now, repeat that to yourself when it comes to your dad. I mean, who couldn’t love you?”
“Maybe my mom will show me a picture of him and I’ll show you, then you can tell me if I look a lot like my father.”
“Ok, I can do that.” I smiled at him.
“I did bring those cookies by the way. They’re downstairs.”
“Alright! And hey…”
“What?” I pushed him back onto my bed and hugged him.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” He hugged me back. “”Now get off, you’re heavy.” I punched him. “I’m joking, you’re not that heavy.”
“Don’t say that, you know I take that stuff seriously.”
“You’re not heavy Mi.” He smiled down at me. I couldn’t help it, my face got a bit warm.
“I’ll race you downstairs.” He offered. I leaned down and whispered in his ear.
“It, is, so on.” I jumped up and off him and raced to the door. I heard him behind me and he slid down the railing, zipping by me. “Oh no you don’t…” I grabbed him around his waist when he touched the floor. He fell to the floor and I fell on top of him. “H-Hey…you never go down that easy…” I said looking at him strangely.
“You’re right.” He flipped us around so I was on my back, and he hopped up and rushed into the kitchen leaving me in the dust.
“You jerk!” I called.
“You love me and you wouldn’t have it any other way.” He said. I sighed and crossed my arms and pouted. “Do you want a cookie?” He came out and bent down by me with a cookie in his hand. I reached out for it and he pulled it back. I blushed and rolled over and curled myself into a ball. “You fall for it every time.” I knew he was holding it out again even though I was turned away. “Are you going to take it or should I feed it to you?” I peeked out.
“Since I have no say I guess it’s up to you.” I opened my mouth a little.
“You have a say.” He put the cookie in my mouth. I took a bite.
“Hmm, a girl could get used to this.” I smirked.
“I’m not going to feed you every time you lose you know.”
“Is that so?” I opened my mouth a second time. He rolled his eyes and put the cookie to my lips again.
“Yes.” I took another bite and continued to smirk.
“Milk?” I asked.
“No.” He answered. I tugged on his shirt a little.
“Please?”
“Get up and get it.” He responded.
“Well fine…” I muttered and got up and got myself some milk.
“See, now was that so hard?”
“That broke my heart.”
“Of course it did.” He looked at his cell. “It’s 10:50, I should get going. My mom wants me home by 11.” I sighed.
“Alright.”
“Look at it this way, tomorrow’s Friday.” He said.
“That’s true.” He hugged me and it caught me off guard. But I leaned against him and hugged back. He always did a lot for me, even when he didn’t realize it. No one on the earth had a better best friend than me.
“I’m going to school tomorrow so I’ll see you in the morning. So you won’t be lonely in school.” He kissed my forehead and turned and quickly slipped his shoes on, and walked out the door. I stood there and felt my face get hot. I jumped when I heard a voice.
“Now that, was adorable!” It was mom, she must have been watching from the door way.
“Mother!” I walked back to my room and immediately texted Kuori.
You know mom saw that
I’m aware she was watching
So you did it just so she would hound me?!
Yep
Well next time just kiss me so then maybe she would be so overjoyed she would have a heart attack
Now why would I do that? I like your mom I think she’s cool
She’s embarrassing
For you
yes
Oh well
=P your mom doesn’t joke around about us
You would be surprised she leaves hints every now and again
No way I hated it how easily I blushed.
Yea she does
What’s everyone’s obsession with us?
I don’t know
Me either
Oh well I’ll talk to you tomorrow, night
I typed ‘k, <3 you’, but then back spaced and sent Night
See you in the morning, I’ll meet you at your house maybe if I don’t sleep in
I sighed. Ok…<3 ya
Lol night
I laid down and I had no idea why, but I instantly fell asleep.

I felt something slide up my cheek. W-What? I turned my head and felt something curl around my waist and I felt something slide up my cheek again. My eyes flew open and I saw kuori inches away from me, grinning. I yelled and turned my head. “Well, good morning sleeping beauty.” He chuckled.
“What the hell did you do to me?” I asked.
“I licked you.”
“Grody! Aw, Come on!” I wiped my cheek off. He pulled me up so I was sitting in bed.
“Well, you slept in.” He looked at the clock, and I gasped.
“Oh no I’m going to be late!” I jumped out of bed and whipped my closet open and found a random shirt and dove into my dresser to get jeans and underwear.
“Is that really what you wear under your shirt? It’s bigger than I thought it would be…” Kuori said. I turned and he laughed. “Your face is as red as a brick!” I pulled him off my bed and shoved him out of my room and slammed the door in his face, and then locked it.
“Pervert!” I yelled and got dressed fast. Then I rushed out of the room and glared at Kuori.
