After Kuori left for home, I went right back to class. After the bell rang, I walked out of class and went to my locker, and I passed a few underclassmen, and some of them had ice packs. “And that punk got sent home. I’ll get him back for this though.” I heard one of them say.
“We’ll gladly help. Blondie won’t know what hit him.” A few others agreed. I leaned against the wall and as they walked by, my foot happened to side out in front of theirs. Each one came crashing to the ground on top of each other.
“Hey! What was that for!?” The first kid looked up and glared at me. I innocently shrugged.
“Oops, my foot must have slipped. Either that or you hit your heads together a little too hard.”
“Why you little…”
“Please do finish that sentence if you want to see what Kuori will do to you next time, and trust me, it wont be just a little bop on the head next time.” I smiled and winked, and walked away leaving them to ponder what I had said.
Hey, on my way over. I sent Kuori a text and grabbed everything I needed from my locker, then headed over to his house. I let myself in, knowing he was still on crutches and I didn’t want to bother him.
“Oh, h-hi Miyuki.” Kuori said as he came around the corner.
“Hey tough guy, how are you feeling?” I asked.
“I’m fine.” He smiled.
“Guess what I did?” I grinned back.
“What?”
“I tripped the losers that got you in trouble.”
“You, did what?” He asked.
“I gave those jerks a lesson.” I tipped my head, confused.
“They didn’t hurt you did they?” He asked.
“No, not at all, they were just surprised.”
“You’re lucky they didn’t, you shouldn’t have done that, what if you would have gotten hurt?” He ran his hand through his hair.
“I’m fine Kuori, are you alright? Really, you’re not acting like yourself.” I said.
“I-I’m alright.”
“Good! I need to show you…my dress!” I reached into my bag and pulled out my blue dress that I planned on wearing for winter ball.
“I would love to see it on you.” He sat down on the couch.
“Ok, be right back!” I went into the bathroom and changed. It was long, and it was fitted, but not so tight that it was hard to move around in and it flared at the bottom. I came back out and returned to the living room. “Well?” I questioned.
“You look, great.” He said.
“You don’t think it’s too tight?”
“It fits you beautifully.” He said. I felt my face heat up. “I mean it.”
“Thanks. I still wish you could come.” I said. “You haven’t worn your suit in a long time.” I commented.
“I’m sorry. But I want you to go and have fun with everyone.”
“Right…”
“You’ll have a blast with Kenji.” He stated. I looked over and smiled a little.
“Yeah, I suppose you’re right.” I said. He continued to stare and I nervously crossed my arms. “Be right back.” I turned and went to the bathroom and changed back into regular, comfy clothing. “So, I’m going to a dance without knowing how to dance.” I laughed when I returned to the living room. Kuori lifted his bad leg up onto the coffee table.
“I would try to teach you how to dance, but I’m kinda down and out for the count right now.”
“It’s alright.” I smiled. “Well, I should start heading home I guess. See you later trouble maker.” I laughed again.
“Oh yes absolutely.” He hobbled over and opened the door for me, and I began walking home. It was only about 6:30, but I had a few things to get done with at home. I continued to walk along my usual route, and I felt like someone was watching me. I stopped and looked around, but didn’t see anyone.
“Kuori?” I called out. I got no answer, so I figured I was just being paranoid. A block later, I felt it again. I still didn’t see anyone, but I slowed down a little, just to see if I could spot anything if it was moving around. Suddenly I felt something around my waist and I jumped and went to scream, but a hand was already over my mouth.
“Don’t scream Mi, it’s only me.” He whispered. He let go and I turned and glared.
“Zero…” I hissed.
“Wanna meet up tonight in the park at oh say, 8 tonight?” He asked.
“Why would I?” I asked defensively. There was no way I could fight him off alone, and my phone was at home, so I had no way of contacting anyone.
“Well, you want to learn how to dance, and I’m going to teach you.”
“You’ve been watching me, stalker.” I looked away.
“So, deal?” He asked.
“Fine, whatever.”
“Will you show up?” He smirked. “You don’t have a lot of time left to learn you know, and your friend can’t teach you with a bum leg.” He had a point, but still, I couldn’t believe that I actually didn’t have much of a choice. Well, actually I did, but, I sota wanted to see him anyway, even though I was trying to catch him, there was just something that I couldn’t get over. If I did catch and turn him in, something told me that I wouldn’t be happy. I was still confused, but at least for the time being I could have a little fun I guess.
“I’ll be there.” I answered.
“I hope so sweetheart.” I blushed and he laughed, and pulled me into a hug. “See you in a while.” He whispered in my ear, and before I could react, he had let go, and disappeared.
“What have I gotten myself into?” I asked out loud, and then continued to walk home.

8 came around fast, and I told my mom I was going out for a walk in the park, and that I would probably be back late. She didn’t object, and I was able to get out of the house with no trouble at all. I went straight to the park, and saw Zero by a tree. He had a black tank top on, and dark blue jeans. He smiled sweetly at me and pushed off of the tree. “So, ready to learn?” He asked.
“Yeah.” I muttered.
“Ok then.” He took my waist, and then my left hand. “Your right hand goes on my shoulder. I’ll lead, so just follow my feet.” I did what he said, and looked down at my feet to make sure I was doing it right. “This is a box step. See how it makes a box?” He said. I nodded. He showed me a few others, and after a few times of stepping out of line and onto his foot, I seemed to be picking it up decently fast. “Beautiful Miyuki.” He said. “Now, look up at your partner when you’re dancing.”
“Ok…” I took my eyes off the ground and looked up at him.
“You’re a fast learner.” He smiled sincerely.
“I guess, you’re a good teacher.” I blushed.
“So, after this, is it straight home, or do you want a surprise?” He asked.
“A surprise, why not, I’m already out right?” I shrugged. He smiled and pulled out a necklace. “Wow…” It sparkled, and it had silver wings on it. Not too feminine, and not too masculine either. He slipped it on and wings appeared on his back. “Well, I guess, anything is possible, right?” I asked. He smiled and pulled me in.
“Yes. It is.” And he took off into the sky, while I clutched onto him for dear life, wondering where we were going.
