Sakura~ A mini narrative

Eh...Just a quick short narrative...Tell me if you think I should continue....

The cherry blossoms drifted to the ground landing on the top of Sakura’s head. The wind was dancing through her tree teasing the blossoms making them fall to the ground. The sweet smell was comforting to her, and it made sense, since cherry blossom is her name. The sun peaked behind Mount Fuji as it set in the west. She stared with her intense black eyes at the beautiful sight of the pink sunset reflecting off the snow white caps of the mountain as she, sitting beneath her tree, clutched her knees covered with a cream kimono decorated with a single pale blue dragon. Her obi was dark blue with her clan symbol, a gold fan, decorating it. Her jet black straight hair was a tangled mess limply hanging slightly over her shoulders. This was not the proper hair style for a samurai’s young daughter of 13. She should have her hair pulled up in a bun held with chopsticks for this was the style back at that time in Japan.

Her horse, Rei, whinnied, spooked by the approaching dark ahead. She stood up and patted him to comfort him. She knew she had to return home before her father got worried. She climbed up onto Rei’s bare back and nudged him forward. He readily agreed and walked forward. Sakura knew she had to sneak Rei into the pasture because her father would freak if he knew she was riding bare back again. The girl and her equine companion trudged down the dirt road leading home.

When she approached her house there was a glow of candle light emitting through the rice paper shoji walls of her father’s room. She snuck Rei into the pasture giving him a quick kiss on the nose. She snuck around the beams supporting the house and tip toed to the shoji board door. She carefully slid it open and stepped into the house. She slipped off her shoes, (which is a custom still today in Japan) and slipped into a pair of slippers. She carefully shuffled across the tatami mat floor to her room. She was just about to slide the door open when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

“Where have you been Sakura-chan?”

Sakura turned to see her father behind her dress in a grey sleeping kimono. His also black slightly greying hair was pulled up high in a samurai style bun. He looked very tired and serious.

“I was just doing my chores Otousama.” Sakura lied.

“Since when do your chores include sitting under cherry blossom trees?” he asked plucking one of the pesky fallen blossoms out of her hair.

“Gomen ne.....”

“We’ll talk about this more later. Go to bed.”

“Alright...Goodnight Otousama.”Sakura bowed deeply to her father and slipped into her room.
It was empty except for a few paintings on the wall that her father bought for her. She shuffled over to one of the walls and opened a panel. In it was a mat, blankets and pillow. She pulled them out and spread them out onto the floor. She closed that panel and moved to another one. In that one was a chest filled with different kimonos. She pulled out a pink sleeping one and dragged it on her body. She crawled into her bed and went to sleep.

Eh...If I were to continue I think this would become a love story. :P *hopeless romantic*
