Genting Casino UK to Host Memorial Poker Tournament

Genting Casino Stoke will hold a poker contest on Sunday, May 6 in memory of Emma Fryer, a poker player who lost her life in November last year.

Emma, nicknamed "Poker Queen," started as a professional poker player at Genting Casino Stoke and tragically lost her life in a car accident while attending a poker tournament in the Czech Republic.

The charity poker contest being held in her memory will cost £60 to enter, which will include a registration fee of £10 and guarantee a prize of £4,000 to everyone taking part.

The £10 registration fee will be donated to the Donna Louise Child Cancer Trust, a charity privately chosen by Emma's family. Donna Louise Child Cancer Trust is a charity based in Staffordshire that supports life-limiting children and their families.

On the day of the tournament, the casino will offer a free buffet to all players at 1 p.m., with the poker tournament itself beginning at 2:15 p.m.

Casino manager Joanne Madic at Genting Casino Stoke said: "Emma started her poker career at the casino a long time ago and we've watched her grow into one of the best poker players around her. She has such a wonderful personality and is sadly missed by everyone here at Genting Casino Stoke.

"We wanted to hold an event to remember Emma and we thought a poker tournament was the best way. We know Emma meant so much to people and we hope as many people as possible can join us on this night."

Tickets to the poker tournament can be purchased at the cash desk before or on the day of the tournament. Tickets can be purchased at the website or by contacting 01782 213499 for more information.
