“Uhhh…nan desu ka?” What is it? I asked pulling the covers over my head. I knew it wasn’t Ushio because she was staying at Sanae and Akio’s house for the weekend. The doorbell rang again and I dragged myself to the door to answer it. My eyes widened when I saw my guest…guests. In front of me was a (much different than I remembered) long purple haired girl, with purple eyes, and a wide smile. She wasn’t alone though. With her was a child. She looked about Ushio’s age with her (I assumed mother’s) purple hair, but blue eyes…she looked like Ryou.
“Kyou!” I gasped as I hugged her. After releasing, I leaned down on one knee.
“And who’s this?” I asked in a baby voice. The small girl hid behind Kyou’s legs, she obviously didn’t have Kyou’s personality.
“This is my daughter.” She stated. My eyes widened, as I noticed the ring on her left ring finger.
“Congratulations!” I yelled, pulling her into another hug. She smiled.
“Thanks!” She said enthusiastically.
“Ohayou.” I said with a smile. “Anata no onamae wa desu ka?” I asked her of her name. Then I realized she was like her mother. She punched my arm and asked,
“You sound like a child! Why do you speak that way?” I had asked her rather formally. I rubbed the spot where she hit me.
“Gomen.” I apologized. Kyou just smirked, enjoying her mini-version of herself.
“Yuki desu.” I’m Yuki. With a nudge from her mother she reluctantly muttered,
“Hajimemashite.” It’s nice to meet you. I smiled. She was definitely Kyou’s child.
“So, do I know him?” I asked, referring to her husband. She smiled.
“No, we met at school. I mean, where I teach. You know kindergarten? Anyway, we immediately fell in love.” She explained. I smiled widely.
“I’m so happy for you! I’m sure he’s great! Why wasn’t I invited?” I asked playfully. She frowned and said.
“I’m sorry, we had a private wedding, just the priest and us.” She smiled, and asked the question that ruined my morning.
“Nagisa-san doko desu ka?” She asked me where Nagisa was. I hadn’t seen her since Nagisa and I got married. She didn’t know.
“Oh…Nagisa…she isn’t exactly…” I couldn’t bring myself to say it. I hadn’t invited any of my friends to her funeral except for Youhei. He was the only one who actually knew except Nagisa’s parents.
“Oh gomen nasai!” She exclaimed. “She left?” I couldn’t help it and I started to cry. Sometimes I wish she had left. Then she would atleast still be in this world, breathing. Then atleast Ushio would have a mother.
“No Kyou…she’s gone.” I said as I wiped away the tears. Kyou was speechless. She didn’t move.
“Oh my god…I can’t believe it. Gomen nasai…” She trailed off.
“It’s okay. I still have Ushio!” I said trying to change the subject. Kyou cocked her head to the side, and I explained.
“My daughter. Nagisa died right after she was born. I think she’s about Yuki’s age.” Kyou smiled.
“Tomoya that’s wonderful! I can’t wait to meet her! Where is she?” I smiled, happy that the subject had changed.
“She’s at her grandparent’s house. She’ll be back tomorrow. Maybe you can come over and her and Yuki could meet.” I offered. Kyou slapped her forehead.
“Oh my goodness I had forgotten why I came! Tomorrow, I’m throwing a little reunion thingy! I’m inviting Youhei, Kotomi, Tomoyo, Ryou, and You! You can bring Ushio if you like, Yuki will be there!” I smiled, excited to see my old friends.
“Of course! I’ll be there!” I said enthusiastically.
“I emailed you the directions, it’s at my house.” She explained.
“Okay, well I’ll see you there!” I yelled. I leaned down and addressed Yuki.
“Ja mata ne!” I said with a smile. She rolled her eyes.
“Ja’ne…” She muttered. I laughed. She was cute.
“Sayonara Tomoya!” Kyou waved as she left, and I closed the door. This will be fun…I think.
