~Jethro~
"Go away you stupid fox!" I said angrily, glaring at Colette. Man, she really ticks me off. An explosion went off above us, and I looked up to see the sky turning different colors. Fireworks.....
"Make me!" She said, raising the wrench she pulled out of her bag. Dang it!!! Why does Colette have to be a mechanic, of all things?! Mechanic equipment hurts when you get hit with it.... as I know all too well. But... if that's the way its gonna go.... I reached over to my messenger and grabbed the first thing I could find.
"You wanna go?? Okay then, lets go!" Then, I raised the ultimate weapon, it was my........ Mp3 player!!!! Crap, that wouldn't do any good. Zoey and Zack, who were standing nearby, burst into laughter. I reached back into my bag again, grabbed the next item, and pulled it out. Turns out, it was a pack of batteries for my Mp3. *sigh* Finally, after pulling out several packs of batteries, some good luck cards, and a bottle of hand sanitizer, I found something. It was a hard cover copy of The ballet Companion!. When I pulled this out, Zack, Zoey, and even Colette, went into hysterics.
~Zoey~
"Oh- my- gosh!" I said between giggles. Now THAT was funny!!! I was just about to ask Jethro about it when Lucy and Belk walked up.
"Hey!!!" Zack said when he saw them.
"We came over because we heard Colette and Jethro arguing.... again." said Lucy with a sigh. Belk, the infamous backpack eater, was entranced in the fireworks above us.
"Look what Jethro has!!!" Zack took the book from me and tossed it at Lucy, who neatly caught it and looked at the cover page.
"The ballet Companion?!" She giggled while shaking her head.
"Dudes! Give it back! It's Doug's, not mine..... and me and Colette were not arguing! We were disagreeing in very loud and angry voices." Jethro, glared at each of us in turn, snatched the book away from Lucy, and stormed off.
"Uh-oh......" I said quietly. Belk, who just now realized something other than the fireworks was happening, turned around and counted us.
"Wheres Jethro?" We pointed at Jethro's retreating form, and he nodded.
"Whats his problem??"
"He has a lot of them!" Colette said. Zack and I sighed in unison. What an un-perfect way to finish a perfect day.

"Shadow," Echo's voice made me turn away from Ice and the other halfer with him, "Merci, it was what I needed to hear." She smiled as she said that. I blinked at her. It surprised me, I hadn't expected that line from a random song I liked to help her. "Um, is there anything you would like to do?" She asked awkwardly, was she nervous, why? But now that I thought about it I hadn't gone through my bag sense I had left for the archery field this morning, and after all the excitement I didn't remember what all I had. "Well, I'd like somewhere to go through my bag, I've never been to into carnival games." I muttered looking around. There was a small area near one of the walls that no one was moving around in. I motioned over there and got up. I took off my bag carefully, not wanting any expensive equipment damaged, if it was it would be a pain in the ass to replace. I opened my bag and the first thing I got out was my bow, without all the after market equipment I had added to it, it was a $200 bow, but now with everything I had added it was easily worth at lest $800. I had extended the balance, I had a laser to help my aim even though I couldn't use it for competition, I had a hilt for four arrows on the bow as well. I had put a lot of money into my bow. Next I got my arrows, they were in a hilt that covered them. I wanted to make sure they weren't poking there way out of the hilt, so I opened the hilt and pulled out one arrow. My arrows had interchangeable tips. Good this arrow had the competition tip on it, that meant they all did. I slipped it back into the hilt. I reached back into my bag, I pulled out a small case. Opening it I found my blunts and my hunting stile tips. I set them next to my arrows and reached back into my bag, I felt wires. Suddenly I realized this morning had been a competition not just practices witch meant. I grabbed the wires and polled my portable CD player out by the head phones. Opening it I found the CD I had burned with my favorite songs from all the bands I liked. I felt some relief at finding that. I reached back in and found that I had some back up batteries to. I put all of it back into my bag.

I thought the best way to show Shadow's interests was to show the contents of his bag.
~Tori and James~
"Why do i have a feeling he's just escaped from an asylum?" Tori asked looking at Prince as Some random Halfer ranted in front of us.
"You think that everyone who who randomly rants is mental KITTEN." James said with a smirk.
"Don't call me that! Thats daddy's nickname for me so don't you dare use it you fuzzy pain in the but!" Tori fumed with a pout. Several people we looking at her and soon enough she was in the middle of a sea of boys. "Gah! James! Help!" Tori told him.
"Say it..." James told her.
"Never!" Tori told him.
"Fine i'm leaving." James said starting to walk away.
"Fine! Fine! I'm sorry for the fuzzy paws comment!" Tori told him.
"Ok guys get away from my baby sister or you all die." James said and the guys quickly cleared out.
"Thank you.." Tori sighed.
"Yeah no problem." James said with a nod as if nothing had happened.

His eyes regarded me questionly. I then realized how foolish I was being. Shadow had already been through enough pain in his life; I didn't want to burden his heart anymore. Shadow narrowed his eyes. "I know what I believe inside, I'm awake and I'm alive," Shadow said suddenly; his voice carrying every word in a deep melody. He didn't seem to know what else to say; he looked over at Ice and a halfer who was with him. I smiled softly, thinking about what Shadow had said; it was poetic. I still wasn't sure what I wanted to believe but I was alive and I wanted to fell like this was were I belonged. But the nagging fear still bit at my conscience. It kept asking the same question over and over; was it a mistake to get close to Shadow?
I shook my head; I couldn't think that way. Maybe someday I would be able to tell him the fears I had been holding onto for so long. But it was too early for that; I didn't want to sadden him. "Shadow," He looked back. "Merci, it was what I needed to hear." I smiled without faking it; he blinked in surprise. I looked around trying to see what was going on. "Um, is there anything you would like to do?" I asked awkwardly. I ignored the nagging voice; I wanted to know more about him. He had told me about his past but I wanted to know him for who he was.

Echo doesn't want to tell Shadow yet so she tries to change the subject. Also, she doesn't listen to english music that much so she just thinks Shadow is being poetic. ;)
Merci is thanks.
Kasumi~
Everything was so fast, and yet so slow.
I looked around at all the happiness that seemed so rare for halfers like us.
Dani and Gray even shared a nice kiss, during which Io began a clap for them.
Slowly, I and the rest of us joined in.
Io even ran over and embraced Dani after the kiss.
I smiled at the touching moment. Was it possible that we could share happy memories like this more often?
Looking up at the black sky, alight with fireworks, I had to agree that the night was pretty romantic.
I shook my head a little though because I never really thought of that romantic stuff.
Looking over, I spotted Ben and Asuka, who kept sneaking glances at each other.
This Ben-guy was interesting...seemed like he might go well with either Io or Asuka. What had happened in the past between Io and Ben? Hmmm....
Giving up on trying to figure out this romantic junk, I simply looked at sky and enjoyed the moment.

Tamotsu~
The fireworks were amazing, but for some reason I could only see the couples all around.
I saw Dani and Gray, some humans, and...was that Ben and Asuka, maybe?
Then I spotted Kasumi, just standing there by herself, looking at the fireworks.
Now that I thought about it, Kasumi was really pretty. No, beautiful.
Her scars and sometimes menancing looks often masked her true self.
Deep down, i knew who she was.
She was like a little girl who had lost her true path and was fighting just to feel useful and needed.
Kasumi had thought the Agency might take care of her and maybe even fill the abscence of her parents, but that would never happen in such a corrupt place.
Instead, she had been hurt again.
She was complex and beautiful and I cared about her more than anyone.
Could this mean that I...
Nope. I couldn't.
But the more I thought, the more I just wanted to hold her and protect her from the world, and the more I wanted to just become a halfer.
I shook my head and facepalmed. My dream of being a halfer was pretty impossible.
Instead, I just walked over to Kasumi.
"Hey, Tamotsu-kun," Kasumi whispered as I approached her, "Aren't these fireworks amazing?"
Without thinking, I replied, "Not as amazing as you."
"Huh?" she asked me with a confused look on her face.
"Oh nothing," I told her and placed my hand on her shoulder.
So, was it true?
Was I in love with...Kasumi?
Continue?
