Something seemed wrong...I couldn't shake that feeling. "H-hay Sam are you awake?" I asked looking over at him. "I am now..." He grumbled.
"Oh! Sorry! Go back to sleep!" "What was the point of waking me then? What's on your mind?" He asked yawning. "I-It's just something seems wrong...I-I don't know what it is...."
"Just forget it Amy and get some sleep..." I knew he was right but....May be if I just...
I heard the foot steps of the night guard making sure everything was closed. I turned into my human form and called to him.
"H-hello?" He said looking around. "Over here over here!" I called hiding behind Sam. "Wha-What! Where's the other elephant!"
I ran up to the cage and opened it. He walked in and I slid behind him turning into an elephant and hitting him lightly over the head with my tusk knocking him out.
"Sorry..." I mumbled. I lifted him up and set him by the flamingos cage so the other night guard would find him soon...
I walked away and looked back once to make sure he was OK. Lady (the tiger) lifted her head and yawned. "What?" She sniffed the air.
"Amy!?" She asked shocked. "Shhhh!!" I hushed her quickly. She got up and growled. "Your a halfer! I knew it!" "Nows not the time..." I said and started to run.
Once out side the zoo I looked around. "This is silly Amy...Going off into the night and leaving the zoo for a midnight trip...
But something was wrong. I followed my instinct and found some humans running away. I soon caught the reek of blood.
"A gang fight?" I wondered out loud. "N-no!" One of the teenagers with blood dripping down his forearm. "H-half breeds! Discussing half breeds! Every where!" He said frightened. "Best to get away." He said running off.
Other half breeds? I had heard some of the wild birds catering about the leopard and cheetah half breed...They said...Moon and Ace...But they were the only two I had heard of...They were strong but not that strong...Something's up...
I continued to fallow the smell and saw a group standing around a body.
"HEELLOOOOO!!!!" A girl was basically screaming at them. All the sudden there was an explosion and the girl screamed and garbed a guy with short spiky black hair.
Half breeds? Must be. I looked down at the body soaked in blood. "She must have been killed by the humans..." I said to my self.

When I was sure the gun shots were done, I raced back to where I had left the others. “Kara! Kara!” I shouted happily. “It’s over! It’s over! It’s-!” I stopped dead in my tracks to see a fallen figure soaked in blood and lifeless. I recognized it as my own older sister.
I stood there shocked for a minute. “K-Kara?” I stuttered, frozen from shock.
Seth walked over to me and placed a hand on my shoulder. “She’s dead. Shot by a human,” he said in a calm voice.
It all hit me like a bullet train. I rushed to her and began crying over her dead body, refusing to believe she was dead. My older sister couldn’t be dead! She couldn’t! She and I were supposed to find Harmony and bring our family with us! Now we couldn’t.

What the heck was that? Gunshots had ceased not too long ago. I looked around and made sure no one was around and climbed a tree. When I was higher, I turned into my lemur form and jumped from branch to branch to investigate what I had heard. I eventually came to a small group of weeping humans looking over a dead body.
I jumped down from the tree and turned back into my human form. “Hiya!” I said. Everyone seemed to ignore me. I went red in the face from being ignored. I hated being ignored! “HELLO!” I shouted. Still peopled ignored me. I was about to scream an insult when there was a sudden explosion. I jumped out of my skin and grabbed the nearest good looking guy with spiky black hair.
“What the hell was that?” I screeched.
The battle wasn't over; I could tell the humans were planning on something. I had a sinking suspicion that they weren't retreating, just getting out of the way for something else. The fight had taken a lot out of me. I had gotten a huge gash along my arm that was bleeding profusly, but I just wrapped my arm in a shirt that I stole off of a fallen human. Not that I wanted to, but I needed to help staunch the bleeding; I didn't want to bring attention to it when Kara was dead. Dead.
I still couldn't quite put my head around it. How could she be gone? I shook my head, but this wasn't a dream; it was real. I found Asuka sobbing uncontrolably, and I rushed to her side, pulling her into my good arm for a hug. I had seen how she had 'killed' the human and knew that she was devestated. I
What could I say? That it was going to be ok? No, that just didn't seem right. I couldn't really say I understood, because even though I had killed a few humans tonight, I was trying like heck to not think about them. But, looking at Asuka and how she was handling it, just brought the pain back.
The people I had killed was someones son, someone's husband, someones brother. I had taken them away from their family. Pushing the pain to the farthest corner of my mind, I just stared at the grass. But, then I saw Kara's bood. And I found myself staring at her lifeless body.
I looked away and found Zero staring out at the open expanse of the forest only a few feet away from me. During the fight, after he had seen Kara shot, I could see the animal instinct to kill flash into his eyes. But then, i had had that same feeling.
"What is it?" I asked him, no emotion in my voice. It was like I couldn't feel anything.
He shook his head as he looked out across the meadow into the trees.
"You know, I don't hold anything against you for wanting to kill the humans, Zero," I told him, unsure if he heard me at all, but I continued. "Because, I... I..."
He turned and looked at me then. I tried to keep the tears from falling, but one escaped. "I know." was all he said, all that was needed to be said. WE understood each other.
I was about to say something, but the explosion cut me off.
