All I could hear were voices. Mushed voices I could barely understand. About that time, one voice rang loud and clear, "You don't deserve to exist!" Come on Asuka, I thought, you've GOT to snap out of it! I blinked my eyes just barely open. Just then I felt a strong paw sweep me away from where I was lying. I jerked my head around to see what was going on and then I saw it. Ariel had a knife in her shoulder and screamed in pain. "Hurts doesn't it?" the punk kid said, "That's because, I know your weakness. It's made of mercury, all halfers' weakness. It's like silver and werewolves."
I didn't even think. I was on my feet charging the punk. I lunged for his head and began tearing through his nose with my teeth. I had never felt so animal before. I wasn't even thinking, and I was satisfied with the taste of his blood on my tongue. He hurt my sister. Well, like a sister I felt myself correcting my instincts. I felt Kara trying to get me off and talk some sense into me, but I didn't hear a word of it. She finally managed to pull me off where we both hit the ground.
"What the heck’s going on?!" Two more human kids walked up. Great, more of them. I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand straight up. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw Dani swiftly walk just behind me, "Get out of here, this doesn't concern you-" I cut Dani off mid-sentence with a voice I had never heard myself use. "Don't mess with my friends!" I felt myself shouting without studdering, "Get out of here if you want to live!" Seeing the rage burning in my eyes, one of the kids ran away. The other, too stupid to get the message came closer. "Oh yeah," he said towering over me. "What's a little pip-squeak like you gonna do about it?" My humanity kicked back in and I realized I was at a bit of a disadvantage. Back to my original voice I said, "Uh...well..." "Pip-squeak!?" I heard Sky complain. "Just because we're small doesn't mean we can't take you!" "Yeah!" Lucy chimed in, "We're strong too!" The kid just grinned, "Only with these pesky bigger friends of yours around." With that he kicked Dani hard in the ribcage. I was ready to pounce again and tear his nose off if I had to, but Gray was on the scene. Using his large paws he knocked the kid into a rock. Since the kid was pinned there, Gray took the opprotunity to share a word with him, "Half-breeds have feelings too. They are half human. Remember that."
With fear in his eyes, the kid got up and grabbed his friend with a bleeding nose and ran. Serves them right, I thought. About that time I realized, we have some injured people to tend to.

Didn't mean to wrap it up so soon, sorry! I just wanted Asuka to get a little out of character! Hope I did ok!
“You don’t deserve to exist!” he shrieked. How many halfers have heard that? I wondered. We closed in closer to him; snarling or glaring.
Asuka then awoke. This was the first time I’ve ever seen a human in fear. Just like an animal, he lashed out, trying to stab Asuka with a knife, but Ariel rushed in, taking the blow in the shoulder. She winced and fell, almost screaming in pain.
"Hurts, doesn't it?" he sneered. "That's because, I know your weakness. It's made of mercury, all halfers' weakness. It's like silver and werewolves."
Asuka rose and lunged towards the now defenseless human. I felt anger towards him as well, but the little voice in the back of my head took over my lips. “Wait, Asuka!” I cried. “Don’t!”
It was too late though. Asuka was already on him. The little voice in the back of my head took over again and sent me flying towards her in my animal form, clutching her head around her neck and smacked her lightly trying to talk some sense into her. “Stop! If you don’t you’re no worse then the human!” the little voice shouted through my mouth.
My thoughts were different though. Leave him bloody! I thought. Then I went numb and fell to the ground. How could I think such things when they’ve done nothing to me emotionally? Maybe we halfers were just like humans, both in good ways and bad.
“What the heck’s going on?!” bellowed a new voice. We all looked towards two new comers.

You know how when you are friends with someone, you would think you would know when they are in trouble? Like in the movies, how one person can just sense when another is hurt. Well, that's how it was with me. Asuka hadn't been gone for more than five minutes, and I got this feeling in the pit of my stomach, but I let it go. I told myself it was nothing to worry about. Besides, Asuka can handle herself.
Well, it was something to worry about, and I was a little more than upset. I was to help track, and I raced in front of everyone. I could smell Asuka's blood, and I had the scent of her attacker in my nostrils. He was not going to get away with this.
At last, we caught up to him. i chose to go down wind. The little punk wouldn't be able to handle such a large group and would try to run. Well, I'd be right there in his face if he did.
"What do you want with me?" the little creeper asked, turning to face everyone else. Fear passed through his eyes, and I could smell the fear on him. I could sense his heart was pounding heavily in his chest.
"We want our friend back," I growled, my nose only an inch from the back of his head. I wanted to reach up and tear out his voice box. But, the voice of reason surfaced and I refrained myself. I wouldn't be any better than him if I resorted to violence.
"Your all Halfers aren't you!" It was more of a statement than a question. He acted as though the sentence was a naughty word, something that shouldn't be said.
"What do YOU care?" Sora shouted, a cloud of anger passed briefly over her carefree face.
"You don't deserve to EXIST!" he bellowed at all of us. As though his threats could harm any one of us. He was dealing with a dragon, tiger, hawk, two pesky cats, a bear, a wolf, a highly ticked off rabbit, and a very angry mongoose.
Just then, Asuka woke up.
It seems as though whenever humans feel cornered, they always resort to violence. The guy pulled out a gleaming knife and lundged for Asuka in her weakened state. All of us dove, knowing he was going to hold true to his threat if he could get his hands on her.
I was the closest to Asuka, and shoved her to the side, taking the blow of the knife in the shoulder. Pain seared up and down my whole body. A normal knife doesn't usually have that kind of effect on me. I gasped in pain as I clutched the gash, the knife stuck in my arm.
"Hurts, doesn't it?" he seemed to smile. "That's because, I know your weakness. It's made of mercury, all halfers' weakness. It's like silver and werewolves."
Asuka got up, her head clear, and lundged at the man, who was now weaponless.
I tried as hard as I could to figure out what that smell was. I sniffed again.
Asuka! Shs's hurt! I knew that I smelled blood, and something else. A human maybe? Just then Dani's wolf nose was pressed to the groud next to me.
"Asuka's been taken by a human!" She screamed.
"Can you follow the sent?" I wondered.
"Yes, humans are slow compared to me. Io, or should I say dragon lady," She poked fun at my new nickname, "You and Sora fly above me. If you see anything, land. Sky, David, and Ariel, you come here, I need your help tracking. Gray, Lucy, and Kara, start think of a plan."
I did as I was told. Sora was by my side, flapping her wing every minute or so. We'd only been flying for fivr minutes when we saw them.
"Sora! do you see that?" I called, meaning the moving blob heading towards a large cliff.
"Do you think that's ummm, you know, the person we're looking for?"
"Asuka, you mean? Yeah that's her, I can see her fluffy ringed tail! LAND!" I shouted, heading for the Earth. Sora laded quietly on a low brach and I touched the ground with my human feet.
"Dani!" I called.
"Did you see something?" she asked urgently.
"Yes! The boy is taking Asuka to the cliff!" Sora screached.
"Not good!" Dani said, "Everybody! We need to catch up with her. Run!" She speed up, till she was running at full speed. Ariel was at her side. Lucy was Lucy lagged a little behind.
"Lucy!" I shouted falling back to her side, "I'm going to morph, Get up on my back, It'll be much faster! I said. With that, I was a dragon, and Lucy was climbing up.
"Be careful, get up on my neck, past the sail!" I yelled. Once she was ready, I pushed off and was soaring at my record speed! I quickly catched up to Dani and the others. There was Sora flying a meter ahead of me.
"You still want to race?" I asked.
"Your on!" she answered, flapping to gain more speed. She sure was fast, but I was still gaining speed myself.
Woosh! I past her so fast she was just a blur, there was the cliff. He wasn't there yet. I landed, staying a dragon, when I remembered Lucy.
"Lucy!" I called getting worried.
"HOLY CRAP! I THINK I'M DEAD!" She screamed.
"Sorry!" I said, getting on my knees to let her slide off my neck. The Boy reached the top right after the others arrived. They had went around him, so they could cut him off. Only Ariel stayed behind him to cut off his only other exit.
"Who are you, and what gives you the right to hurt our friend?" Sky called. He looked up and he looked like he'd seen a ghost. He dropped Asuka, Staring from a huge wolf, to a silver bear, into the human faces of Kara, Sky and Lucy, at the pitch black hawk glaring him, to the vertical pupils of a dusky colored cat, and then into the blood red pupils of a dragon. He turned, probably hoping to run, only to find a white tiger staring right at him.
"What do you want with me?" he asked, turning to face the bigger group.
"We want our friend back," Ariel growled, her nose only an inch from the back of his head.
"Your all Halfers aren't you!" He said, not asking a question.
"What do YOU care?" Sora shouted.
"You don't deserve to EXIST!" he bellowed
Just then, Asuka woke up.
