My hair rose: a snake half-breed. Instincts nudge me in the back of my brain. Snakes were always a mongoose’s worst enemy, half-breed or animal. I wanted to turn into my animal form but Io got there before me.
Two more half-breeds came; one named Ben and another seemed to strike a cord with Sky, her face turned into an expression of surprise and wonder with a mix of pain. Or was that just what I was seeing?
He introduced each of the others: Ben, Jess, Jack, and David (himself). At that Sky seemed to burst. "No your not! Your names Dusk!" she hissed. So he was her lost brother? Wow, take about nerve racking.
Dusk- or David or what ever his name was- turned into a cat and began running away but Sky rushed at him as a cat and somehow nearly fell to her doom only too be caught by her brother who pulled her back up and began running.
My face was a mix of confusion and surprise. Geez, maybe I could find Kovu some where around here.
We were lead to a half-breed camp not too far away. I honestly was surprise. This was the biggest group of half-breeds I’ve ever seen. I looked up at the tent ceiling and tried to sort my thoughts.
“Kara!” came Io’s voice. “Kara, come here!”
I turned to her. “Yeah?” I asked, slightly sleepy. It had been a long and confusing day.
“I know where Kovu is!” she exclaimed.
My face melted into an expression of joy and then curiosity. “How do you know?” I asked.
"An old friend told me. I asked about Seth, he told me Seth was with a little mongoose. They are waiting for me, for us, in center valley!" she informed me
"Which is?" I asked.
"Not a days journey from here, it's along the way! Quick, you tell Ariel, Sky, and Asuka, I'll inform Dani, Gray, and Lucy!" she whispered back. I watched her tip toe over to the others and tell them.
The next day, I was talking to Ariel. "Are you sure Kara?" she asked. "They could be trying to lure us into a trap."
"S-she's right, Kara," Asuka whispered, nervously. She looked back at Sky.
"Well it's worth a shot I think!" I shouted excitedly. My hope of returning my brother was high. I would take the risk, even if I had to do it on my own. After all, he was my imaginative little brother.
"I just don't know..." Asuka said again, looking away.
I frowned. "Look, I'm out here looking for my kid brother, you guys don't know how good I feel right now knowing he could be close by!" I had made I promise I intend to keep.
"You're right, I don't know how you feel..." she mumbled after a few minutes of silence. "I've just got a bad feeling about this, that it won't be as easy as we think.”
“We don’t know until it happens,” I said. “Let’s go before we maybe too late.”

I stalked over to my...Sister...Wanting to know why the heck she was here!? "Sky." I hissed she jumped startled. When I was younger I would have laughed but...I was different now...
"Dusk...You scared me!" She said. I could tell she was not at ease with me. I flicked my tail telling her to fallow. I broke into a run Sky let out a squeak of surprise. She caught up soon though.
I stopped suddenly and turned around at her and hissed. "Why are you here Sky!" She flinched back wards and tumbled over a root. "Owww..." She said rubbing her head. "Answer me!" I said again.
"Were looking for Harmony!" She said. "Huh Harmony that brings back memories..."
I had been walking for days..I knew I was being a fool..I was still young and I had promised Sky I would stay with her forever...The she tackled me and said she did not need to be protected..I laughed but still felt bad about leaving her.I was in the mountains now and my paws hurt like crazy! I looked at them and licked the blood off. "Bla!" I hissed and spit out a tiny rock.
"He he..Having trouble stranger?" I looked to see a girl about my age leaping down from rock to rock. "Who are you!?" I hissed and dropped into a crouch remembering the training Moon had tough me. "Me? I'm Sora!" She said proudly. "Who are you?" She asked turning her head. I paused for a second not knowing if it would be ok telling her my name..."Dusk" I finally said. "Hahaha! That's a funny name!" She was laughing at me!? "I-I mean Yh-yha its stupid right? I like...David better!" I said...But I knew it would be hard to respond to a new name...I would miss the name Dusk...*sigh* mom always said this to us if we complained about our name.."You can see the Moon and the Stars that appear in the Sky but you can only see them at Dusk. That always made me laugh that she made such a silly thing with our names.
"Come on David...You do want to be called that right? Well what ever! Come on! I want you to meet Ben and Jess, and Jack! Jack has a bad temper so stay away from him! Jess is nice just don't mention her dad...And Ben is really nice!!!!" She said cheerfully. "O-ok..You sure its ok?" I asked. "Yha! Jack found me wandering around and took me back to Ben! He raised me! He's my big brother!!!" She said jumping from rock to rock. I scrambled after her not use to jumping like that. "He sounds nice." I said thinking of my own family.
Once we were at the camp they lived I saw 3 others. Sora told me their names. "Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen! Come here!" She shouted. "Keep quiet girl! Or I'll eat you!" Said a boy about 13 or 14. "Hahaha! Yha right Uncle Jack! Ben would not let you eat me! Even if you are a snake half breed!" She made a face at him. I was unsure about that thret...Can't snakes easily swalow things?
"What Sora?" I saw a boy about 15 come out..This must be Ben. "Look! I found a cat half breed wandering around! He said his name is Du-David!" She said looking at me. "He has no where to stay so can he stay here pleeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaassssseeee!!!!" She begged. "Yes." Was his only answer and then he walked off.
Once I was done explaining things to Sky I was not sure if it helped or not...

So yha I'll really introduce Sora soon! Yha she's Dusk's girl friend.
The band of other half-breeds had already caused enough trouble. For one, they made my life flash before my eyes (which was no fun) when they threw that rock at me, then Sky's brother turned out to be a real jerk (which I guess is better than not knowing if he was even alive), and now they're saying they know where Kovu and Seth are. Kara had come up to Ariel (who was still standing in front of me) and I to tell us this information. "Are you sure Kara?" Ariel asked fairly politely. "They could be trying to lure us into a trap." I gave it some thought, "S-she's right Kara," I whispered. I looked over to see what Sky thought about it, but she was still a little in shock from the whole Dusk situation. "Well it's worth a shot I think!" Kara shouted excitedly. "I just don't know..." I kind of looked away. "Look, I'm out here looking for my kid brother, you guys don't know how awesome I feel right now knowing he could be close by!" I analyzed what she said, "You're right, I don't know how you feel..." I mumbled thinking of my elder brother. I'd probably be just as excited as she was if I even thought Alex was close by. "I've just got a bad feeling about this, that it won't be as easy as we think," I trailed off.

Past: After being attacked by dog half breeds he left his sister, Sky, with her mother and Cody, he went back to try to find any one who survived and found his brothers body. He had planed to return but could not. He ran away to find Harmony for a better place and ran into Ben, Jess, Jack, and Sora. They had told him they tried to find Harmony but it dose not exits and he gave up after that.

"Ben," I whispered at the halfbreed camp, "Ben I know you hear me! Help an old friend, please!"
"What?" he hissed.
"Have you seen Seth? I can't find him; he left last night."
"He saw a young mongoose, shortly after you left to hunt. He wanted to help the sorry creature, so he went after it. He told me, If I were to see you, tell you to follow him, he's going to harmony. He told me, he'd wait at center valley for three days. When your group leaves in the morning, go there. I can't see you anymore, okay, stop talking to me, we are not back in the old days! You are not my ally." He spoke quietly and quickly, as if he were afraid of his little gang buddies.
With those words he turned away and wouldn't speak to me for the rest of the night.
"Kara!" I called, "Kara come here!"
She edged over to me, "What?" she asked, sounding sleepy.
"I know where Kovu is!" I told her, watching her expressiom change from tired, joy, to disbelief.
"How?" she questioned.
"An old friend told me. I asked about Seth, he told me seth was with a little mongoose. They are waiting for me, for us, in center valley!"
"Which is?" she asked suspiciously.
"Not a days journey from here, it's along the way! Quick, you tell Ariel, Sky, and Asuka, I'll inform Dani, Gray, and Lucy!" I whispered.
I tip-toed over to the wolf and bear half-breeds first.
"You guys! Hey wake up!" I poked Dani's head only, I was a bit unsure of how Gray would react to me, little miss temper, jabbing him on the forehead.
"What?" Dani said. Gray looked at me with interest.
"I know where Kovu and Seth are!" I said happily.
"Really?" I was surprised to hear Gray's voice asking the question.
"Yeah," I told them we're going to meet with them tomorrow, I'll give more details in the morning!"
I scooted over to Lucy.
"Hey! Lucy, I know where Seth and Kovu are!"
"That's great!" she squeaked.
"We're going to meet them tomorrow, I'll give more details in the morning. Good night!"
I went back to my spot, and slept.
