Benign -
"No! I--uh--I mean...Don' go to bed yet, Brooke...I mean, it's--uh, it--looks like it's too early, and, I...um...Dad and Pop just fell asleep...and...um..." I looked down shyly, all nerve I thought I had blowing away in the chilly, midsummer wind. I risked a glance up at my older companion's eyes. She was watching me expectantly, something between amusement and endearment in her deep-set eyes. "I...uh, just like talking to you is all..."
Uh, shit. Way to go, me. Now she thinks you're, like...a freak or something. Or at least terribly, socially awkward. And that is so much worse.
A few weeks ago, Dad and Pop had decided to leave the farm, my only home. Brooke had come along, which only seemed natural. I'd known her for years. She was he closest friend I'd ever had, and I missed talking to her.
I looked up when I heard something like a light chuckle. The corners of her mouth were lifted ever so slightly; very encouraging, I knew, so I chanced an awkward grin, very much like my Poppa's. "So, yeah." I finished lamely.
Che. For a fifteen year-old, my social skills were kind-of lacking.
Brooke was half-smiling now, though, so I grinned wider when she conceded, "Alright, then, Benign. What do you wan to talk about?"
"Anything." I blurted, more than willing to converse for as long as Brooklyn would play along. My lack of hesitation was enough to make me flush and approach the subject more calmly. "I-um-mean...hah, well, no: anything. The moon, you, he trip, why we left...Haha, um, ah, well, I, uh, really do mean...uh, anything." I stammered out, cursing my lack of articulation. Good eye, me. She wont find you unintelligent at all.
Brooklyn, to my great relief, moved on as though I'd given a sufficient answer. "Oh? Well...where to start? Hm, the moon is full, as you may have noticed, it's quite bright out here--and myself...well, what is there to talk about?" she chuckled dryly, so unaware of how much I looked up to her, how much there was to talk about.
She continued, fixedly, "I think this is the...hm, fifth week we've been on the road, so to speak? About a month, and we've run into only one halfer. I know you don' really get it yet, bu a few ears ago...when you were about four, probably--you couldn't walk two feet without running into one pack of halflings or another. It's...weird. Really odd." It took a minute for Brooklyn o find her way out of her own thoughts, bu I was patient, and she snapped o attention with, "And you...we left because...ah, you could call it controversy, perhaps. Racism? Maybe. German is insecure." her voice was stiff, as it got when she was uncomfortable. "And Calamari was willing to make sacrifices for him. For you, and for the little family you all have made out of this." She finished, looking tired.
My next words leaped from my lips before asking permission, "Our family." I blushed as she looked taken aback, and moved on quickly, "I mean...you're just as much a part as everyone a the...'farm' was...Idunnoprollymore." M face was beet red, neon in the light of an unforgiving full moon. "Okay. Well. Um. Bed. Night." I stuttered out awkwardly, shrinking into a mouse and scurrying to a comfortable-looking tuft of grass.
"...Night, Benign." And I prayed to a god I didn't really believe in that I wasn't imagining the smile in her voice.

I sighed and checked the clock again. Two minutes had passed since I got here.. What if no one came? Maybe none of them wanted to leave and it was all some joke... I looked around again to make sure I hadn't missed someone walk in and was disappointed to find the same people again and their same conversations..
I sat back down on my chair and fiddled with the fork in my hand until I heard the door open. Quickly, I dropped the fork and turned around and was excited to see someone I knew walk in, "Luna! Over here!"
She looked over to me and waved before she came over and sat down. I smiled and was surprised when someone else slid in next to her. I tipped my head to the side.. Did I know him? I thought for a second... Shark? But this wasn't Ran (Note: Ran was another member's OC who was a shark before she quit. I think his name was Ran anyway.. Or something like that 'oTZ)
He looked kind of nervous and tried to smile. "I'm Sage. Luna asked me to tag along... If that's fine." I nodded and smiled, "Sure! The more the merrier! I'm Sky by the way." I heard another ding as some more familiar faces walked in. Kasumi and Tomatsu walked in and saw us before sitting down.
"Did we miss much?" Kasumi asked as I shook my head, "Not really. Just waiting for others to get here." I introduced Sage who seemed kind of nervous before we started to small talk again while we waited for the others.

"Rika?" Moon poked his head into the bathroom "Are you almost ready?" I nodded as I finished brushing my hair. I wish I had more time but Nathan had kept me up most of the night because he wanted me to watch this movie with him. "Do I look okay?" he laughed and walked over behind me, "You look perfect." he kissed the top of me head as I smiled. "Thanks.." We both walked out of the bathroom to find Nathan sitting at the kitchen table kicking his legs back and forth.
"Are we almost ready, Mom?" I nodded. "Yes. We're leaving now," I said as I held my hand out for him to take and off we went. The meeting place wasn't far so we just walked.
I hoped we wouldn't be late.. It didn't take longer than five minutes to get to the place as we opened the door and saw all of them right away. A lot of people had shown up to my surprise.. I can't believe so many wanted to go...
Looking back at Moon he smiled at me and squeezed my hand as we walked in and took a seat before saying our quick hellos. I could only vaguely see who everyone was, but most of them had changed. (Me: *cough*besides sky*cough* XD)
Lets see... I reconized Sky and Kasumi, Tomatsu was next to her and Luna and Sage was to his left. Ariel had sat between Abby and Alicia while Prince and Kari seemed to be bickering over something yet again while Claudia watched amused. Sebastien had a book open as he silently read from it and the two brothers, Shadow and Ice talked some. Io was talking to someone new who seemed to have his eyes fixed on Nathan... But not in a bad way... More like "I wana hug you" way... I heard a ding and watched as Lucy walked in and took a seat near Sky.
Was this everyone? It seemed like there were others.. But I guess not everyone would want to go. Everyone talked and caught up some while Nathan squirmed on Moon's lap while he was coloring the picture on the back of the menu. It didn't take long for Sky to start.

So..... Many........ People.......... I stared at Luna as if to say, 'YOU DIDN'T TELL ME THERE WERE THIS MANY!' she didn't seem to notice as she chattered away with someone else who I had already forgotten the name of.. Was this still a good idea? Maybe if I left now Spinner wouldn't fully disown me...
And that wasn't the end of all of them. A few other people came in, none who I had ever meet or even seen for the mater of fact. I just tried to keep to myself before that girl that Luna introduced me to cleared her throat.
"Ummm.. Do you think that's everyone?" no one seemed to be sure as she looked around some. "Well.. I think we should start talking anyway. We can fill in anyone else who shows up."
"Everyone gets it...Right? We.. All want to leave." no one seemed shocked by this as she nodded. "So I guess the point I need to get at is when?" they all seemed to start talking at once again while I tried to stay out of the conversation. The sooner for me the better probably until I wanted to die by my sister's hands.. I sulked thinking about how mad I had made her...
I only heard part of the conversation but it sounded like they wanted to leave soon. I looked around at all the halferes again. All of them seemed to know each... I looked away and watched as Nathan scribbled and colored on the paper children's menu. I watched for a few minutes before I heard the girls voice again.
"So it's decided then. We'll be leaving tomorrow."

I was waiting for people to post, and I know that a bunch of you guys are busy ;-; Busy with life, busy with school, busy with the holidays, busy with family, busy with exams (gah exams 'oTZ) err.. But if you can find the time to post, that would be awesome :3 If I don't get any responses I'll try again and get them out of Harmony and try and make it more interesting from there. And I know, sorry it's not much to continue from since you can't do much sides pack "oTZ if you just want me to hurry up and post to get them out of Harmony, just tell me... And also, sorry to those who are only on the outside place and can't really post much until we move our butts and leave :'D
And I know it seems unrealistic to leave "tomorrow" but I just want to leave soon *shot*
