I watched the guards take the other prisoners away. No one seemed to pay attention to me. Guess I really was a nobody. However, the Giovana girl seemed rather interested in me.
"Well, missy, I want you to come with me!" she smiled evilly at me. One of the guards kicked me, and I flinched. Standing up, I watched her clip a chain on my collar, then she pulled me along after her. Walking through the mansion, we eventually came to a giant back yard. "Stay!" she said as she clipped me to a post.
"What am I, some kind of dog?" I huffed. Observing the pole, it was made of stone. The chain had to be steel. In my current state, there was no way I was running off. Sliding down the pole, and sat helplessly waiting for her to return.
A few minutes later, she came back.
"I want to test a theory," she smirked. "Transform." My eyes widened at the order, then my gaze hardened.
"No." Just then, I got a major shock through my neck, and found myself changing against my will. During the short period that I blacked out, I felt a familiar sensation. It always forwarned a painfull memmory. However, this one wasn't a scene. This one was more current, and the wound stuck deep.
"I said, go away! D*mmit!"
When the transformation finished, I sat, panting. That wound was self inflicted, and it cut deeper than anything I had felt before. Apparently, Giovana interpretted what she saw in my eyes as hopelessness. Actually, she was close enough.
"Now, you'll be a good kitty right?" she asked, looking into my face. It was almost comical how I was taller than her just sitting. Then again, the more painfull the memmory the larger I became. Simply snorting, she walked around, and I heard her unchain me. Suddenly, I felt something grip my scruff.
"Stand up!" she ordered. Following her orders, I stood on all fours. Finally, I understood what she was doing. The little b*tch was riding me! "Now, let's have a run of the edges of the yard!" Man, I was going to hate this, but...
I followed orders. I swear, her yard is much bigger than any one person needs. It felt like an hour to complete the loop, but we finished in less than five minutes. I wasn't even sweating.
She lead me inside, and ordered the guards to put me in one of "those" cages. I still hadn't changed back, in the men were wary. Still, they lead me to a large cage located in what seemed to be control room. A single chair face the door, and the huge thing was bolted to the ground, with tons of buttons on the arm. Locking it behind me, I found that no one else from our group was around. However, I smelled another bird halfer, and also some kind of dog. The bird... I couldn't tel if it was there or not. The smell was farther away. Closer was the dog, in the cage next to me. Lovely.
"What now? I'm her personal slave and her ride. Can't the girl see I'm not a godd*mn horse?!" I muttered.

Luna and I were talking, I guess just mostly catching up with each other, and for a while, I didn't seem what exactly what was wrong until Luna eyed me and then looked at Rika. Oh, crap. Not what I meant to do. Defiantly not. That's when I noticed something off about Rika. She seemed a little distant, I guess.
"Rika?" Rika looked up at me and smiled. "Is something wrong?" I asked with worry in my voice, hoping she wasn't upset with me talking to Luna and Rika hesitated.
"It...Just seemed a little too quiet here..." I nodded.
"Do you think we should go and look for them?" Rika and Luna nodded, even if Luna somewhat didn't know about who to look for, she probably knew the concept.
Rika changed into hyena form and both Luna and I changed into our leopard forms.
"What if we separate for a little bit?" Luna suggested and I looked at her. She really has grown up... "It might help since Moon said you guys were traveling in a large group." Rika nodded in agreement and I looked at Luna and she shrugged. I didn't really want to leave Rika but I guess we had to if we were going to go separate ways.
"We'll meet outside in the front once were done," I told Rika and Luna and we all nodded and went our separate ways.
I went off in a direction that was mostly deserted, just to see if anybody was back there. I smelled some halfer blood and loads of hunter blood, which didn't exactly phase me but the halfer blood did. Around me, the place looked like the dining hall of the hotel and I sniffed around and found the smell of two halfers. I followed it to one of the turned over tables and found a foxcoon and a white fox girl. I didn't really recognize them though.
They cringed away when I advanced towards them and I sighed.
"Come on. It's okay. I'm a halfer just like you guys," I tried telling them and they looked at each other before they crawled out from the table and followed me to outside and that's when I found Rika already out there, helping an owl halfer sit down before she came over to me.
"Do you think that's everyone?" Rika asked and I shrugged. I couldn't really tell. There were too many scents mixed in together.
"I'm not sure, it's hard to keep track of everyone in such a large group..." Then Luna showed up with nobody and I looked at her, confused.
"Couldn't find any. That might be it, but I still have my group with me if you still want us," Luna said and Rika just nodded. I could tell she was taking charge of the situation, or at least some.
That's when I heard footsteps coming closer and looked to see Pierce and Abby.
"Hey," Pierce called out, which manly got our attention. "Did ya miss us?"
"Okay. I think that might be all of us, then," Rika said as she looked at me and I shrugged.
"Everyone else has been taken?" Pierce asked and Rika nodded.
"Yes," Rika said and then we all turned to some wolves that were headed this way. I didn't really know them, but might as well travel with them, I guess.
We headed off with the wolves, Pierce, Abby, Luna and her group, and Rika to go and follow the scent of where everybody was taken but unknowingly, we came upon two hunters that must've hid in the shadows, but that's when a slick tentacle slid out and knocked him out and turned to us.
"Leave him. He's still alive, and a boy with such a big mouth must have a bigger will to live." The voice was mocking, I could tell, but it was mainly focused on Pierce from what I could tell.
"You...You're a halfer, aren't you?" Rika tensed, ready to pounce. I could tell she was worried that this man might be like her, but at the same time, not, especially if he was dressed up as a hunter.
"Nah, really? Are you suuure, Einstien?" He held up his hands as if in surrender. "Yep. On your side, dear." He winked and that's what made my anger flare up a little. Who did this guy think he was?
I got protectively in front of Rika, since she wouldn't calm or back down and said, "Why are you dressed like the guards? Why are you with one if you're on our side?" It was confusing, I had to admit, but if Rika was going to get involved, I at least wanted to try to protect her.
"I simply found one of those morons and dressed as one, dear. Then joined another so that I could search your group for an old...friend." His mouth tightened and twitched a little. "I used to be looking for two, but...I found her yesterday; the other one. You all reek of her, so I guess she was with you..." He then looked at Pierce with the grin tightening even more and more forced. "I found my other friend, though, so it's quite alright."
That's when a fight started across the man and Pierce and we slowly found out that he was the brother of Maki and Rika inquired about Kai, that seeming to be his name, and he threw a retort back of her smelling like science, blood, and chemicals. I knew she hadn't smelled like that lately, but still, that made me growl a little with Rika.
Soon, we had to have Kai join the small team we assembled and prodded information out of the hunter that was left in the snow, and even though another argument was prodded out of the wolves and Pierce, I looked at Rika. She seemed upset about the comment Kai made, so I turned to her and licked her ear. She looked at me with a slight blush.
"You okay, Rika?" I asked, concerned that she really wasn't since she had been mostly quiet this whole trip and she looked at me.
"Yeah, I'm just a bit... unsettled, I guess," Rika told me and I pressed my body to her's to keep her warm, even if she was already.
"Why?" I asked as we got closer to the gigantic mansion completely surrounded by guards. Hopefully, this guy knew where he was going....
"That whole... comment, I guess," Rika shrugged and I nuzzled my head against her's for a second.
"Don't worry about it. I know you're not like that anymore, Rika. Besides, we have other stuff to figure out, besides this whole ordeal with these hunters, okay?" I tried to reassure her, even if it was hard, and she just nodded and nuzzled her head against mine for a second before we came upon the mansion, waiting for instructions from Pierce and the weird guard.
