"AHHHHHH....."
This was it. A day in a hot tube is the best. I'd had to find the pumps and stuff and fix the broken down water heater but I didn't care, the hotel had at one point invested in some cool antifreeze pipes and I could see the snow fall outside.
No biting off heads, no ripping throats out with my bear (ahem, bare..) hands, no ripping aortas with my incisors, no sitting in ass-freezing cold water from a couple of stupid fish, and no jumping from cliffs and landing 2200 pounds on a 1000 pound elk (Well, ok, that was for funs). Just total bliss at 109 degrees, made me wish I got a room.
Yeah, about that, evidently the room I had just slept in had been locked I had picked the lock with my pinky claw (god that little thing was useful) He wasn't in so I guess nobody would notice if I stay there a bit. Though I had the strange feeling the group I was hanging with didn't stay at one place for long periods of time.
I bashed my head into the bubbling water, feeling the droplets fall down my cheeks and felt the water roll down over the scars of my human form. The beard on my chin hid a silted neck, my long hair kept the slightly deformed left ear out of sight. I know I look like a wild man, maybe even bigfoot. But the scars hidden were afoul reminders of a disenchanted childhood.
The swirling waters pooled in front of me created a mini vortex, like the maelstroms of Norway and Japan. Such forces where imminent in my life always, none of witch were at all in my control. Poverty, loneliness, hunger, antipathy in some of the most extreme forms. I think I have seen it all. I haven't, I know and that statement will be disproven within the end of the week.
Had I really been there? Witnessing bloody murders of hundreds halfers? A large set claws appeared from the water to my left. Had my own bloody brutality really protected my neck like that? The mutilated bodies that had crisscrossed on the floor came to my mind. Yes, I had done that. I had still needed to live. Where I to let some group of people tell me to end it there? They stared back at me in my dreams, every night. Who had they really been? Question upon question littered my mind.
The water swirled in my eyes, a rich vortex of foam and white. So clean was the water, the white seemed out of place. What was it doing here? Did it have a purpose besides my own amusement? I sympathized with it, it had never done anything wrong, yet even I had seen it as different. Was I like that, is that why I had no one? Was that why this hot tub was empty besides myself? Did anyone know that this was here? Probably not...
I let my head fall back. I was such a idiot. Maybe I have done some smart things but I had way to many dumb moments for them to be the minority. I was a fool, I never let my guard down around anyone, scare that they would abandon me, or more common, would get killed. "You need to calm down", I whispered to myself in my head, "no one will die here". Out of sheer experience I cringed, hoping that this wouldn't come to hex me.
Far off in the corner, I could see the clothes and other odds and ends I carried around. Call it a survival instinct but you never knew when you would need a fire. But that wasn't the worse part of my worrying. Underneath the hiding waters, next to my hand was a huge obsidian knife. The thing fit nicely in my hand, and weighed a good 10 pounds. You never knew when you needed to kick ass.
I slipped farther into the waters, dozing off into a very light slumber.
After we got into....what was it a some abandoned place or something...Peirce, these two wolf halfers: Ice and Shadow, and somewhat Alissa, where standing next to each other, in the lobby, with all the other halfers around. Peirce thanked Ice and I, and said he was tired and he tried to smile. He handed Shadow's jacket back and I watched him get a key from Sky, and he walked away.
After he was out of sight, I noticed Alissa watching me. "What?" I asked her, wondering if Peirce was okay.
"Whatcha doing?" she asked, slightly smiling.
"Just watching Peirce, I wanna make sure he's okay," I said. I wonder what those little doors mean...
"Yeah, that's what you're doing," Alissa said sarcastically.
Shadow and Ice left to go to Sky, some other halfers following them.
"What's that suppose to mean?" I asked Alissa, looking at the door that was planted on Jake's head.
"Ohhhhh nothing," she said waving a hand and smiling slightly.
I knew what she was talking about, but I wondered if anyone else was listening and could tell...what does Alissa know?
"I'm going to get a key, are you staying in the same room as me?" I looked at Alissa.
"He he he, we'd better sleep in the same room, so I can keep an eye on you," she winked.
"Alissa quit it!" I said.
"Quit what?" she asked, putting her hands on her hips.
"Nothing," I said, and I ran up to Sky, "may I please have a key Sky?"
"Yeah, sure," she said, handing me an ice cold key.
"Thank you Sky," I said, taking the key. I almost dropped it, because it was so cold.
I looked back at Alissa, and I motioned her to follow me. She followed me, and I headed down a hallway. I opened the room and went inside. Alissa followed me into the room and we looked around.
"Oh my...this is so cool!" I heard Alissa said.
"But there's only one bed," I said, "I want the floor!!!!!!!!" I said and I flopped down on the floor.
"Fine," Alissa said, she went onto the bed and fell asleep. I looked up and the ceiling. I wonder....

"Here," Ice said as he returned an tossed the key at Shadow still a little annoyed with him apparently and handed the other to Kallik.
"Why are we all the way on the top?" Shadow questioned noticing the number on the card as he held it up. I looked over his arm to see it.
"It's not my doing; blame sky!" Ice scoffed and turned to head over to the elevator. Shadow chuckled a little at his brother being so irked currently.
He turned a little and looked at me. "Come on, let's head on too." I nodded and walked next to him.
"Oh là là, cet hôtel est très grand." I muttered looking up at the hugh hanging chandilers in the lobby.
Shadow raised his eyebrow. "Excuse me?" He said. "Nothing, I was saying how large this hotel is." I laughed a little; he only smiled. "Yeah it is pretty big."
We stepped into the elevator with ice, Nanuke, and Kallik. Shadow hit the botton for the top floor and gave Ice a smart look that made Ice scowl. I sighed and smiled seeing there was no helping this.
I stumbled backwards as it began to rise and fell against Shadow. He blinked. "Are you okay?" I blushed and stood back up regaining my balance. "Yeah it's the first time I've been in one of these things." My heart pounded self-consiously as I watched the numbers slowly increase.
A bell dinged and the doors opened we all exited. The doors cames back together and the metal box desended to pick up it's next load. We went in different directions. Kallik was the farthest down the hall, Nanuke and Ice were about in the middle closest to the elevator. While Shadow and I were opposite of the elevators a few doors.
He slid the key into the slot then pushed the door open. "This ain't bad." He chuckled setting his bag on the floor by a desk. I slid mine over my head and dropped it next to his. I yawned suddenly realizing how tired I was after traveling so far. Shadow had already kicked off his shoes and crashed on the bed destroying the once neatly made sheets.
I slipped my cold feet out of my boots and climbed into the bed and curled near the end of it. It felt strange to lay on a bed instead of the forest floor but it was soft like laying on a pile of leaves. I relaxed and soon drifted off.

First time Echo has every been in a hotel so she's a little marveled by it ^^
~Ice~
I walked back over to the others. "So where did you go Icy?" Shadow asked from where he stood next to Echo.
I through his jacket at his face angerly. "My name is Ice, not Icy, and I went to help a friend, so don't bother me about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I yelled at him.
"Ya, ya, I got it," Shadow muttered. "So who's sleeping with who tonight, I mean we're to big of a group for one room?"
"I want to be with Ice," Snow Flower said.
"That's fine with me, I'll room with Echo, witch leaves Kallik on her own." Shadow spoke up over the others in the group.
"Ya, I guess that will work, I'll go ask Sky for three keys," I sighed as I walked off. I didn't like the thought that Kallik was on her own.
"Hey Sky, I need three keys," I shouted to her when I got close.
"Why would one person need three keys Ice?" she asked while giving me a suspicious look.
"Because I'm getting keys for Shadow and Kallik to." I stated rolling my eyes.
"Okay," she sighed and handed me three cold metal keys.
"Thanks Sky," I called over my back as I walked back over to the others.

Hope I didn't get anyone out of character.
We reached the resort in the nick of time...
Well at least I hope so.
The truth? I'm one sad bear. As soon as we got close everything shut off. I got a room key, somehow found my room, must've somehow got that blessed DND sign up, and went to sleep. Call me mean, call me stupid, call me uncaring, I don't care, I would have bitten your head off at that moment if you were in the way of my bed.
I heard knocking on the door, f***ing maid.
After a nice midday meal, I went and started to unpack my stuff. I also had to change to get the smelly red stain out of my shirt. Not to mention I had to get rid of some trash. I'm sure that the hotel manager didn't want that gathering flies.
The maid was such a nice delicate person. Great taste to, I must remember that quick pasta recipe she showed me, and the fact it was best with lots of tomatoes, though to much and it got a little messy. She also took care of the old milk containers, so no flies in here.
I got out my stuff from the bags and put them up in a wardrobe. I admit to being a tad messy, but hey, I know where everything is.
Heading out the door I ducked under the doorway, I passed some stares in the hallway. I brushed by some people and stepped into a elevator. I heard the metal creak as I maybe exceeded the limits a bit. I looked around at the other passengers.
"Ground floor"
Some nice person hit the button.
I saw a fire escape map of the hotel on the door of the elevator, instantly I had a perfect sense of everywhere in the hotel. Stupid bear senses were already picking out faster exits for certain rooms. I tried to shut them off but no good.
The door opened and I instinctively looked at the fast escape route. Through the entrance and out the greens to the thick wood that surrounded the resort. My nerves where somewhat edgy, my eyes were watch shadows around the inside of the hotel. It was my expergefaciphobia acting up again, I guess. That’s fear of waking up for the non-Latin-savvy. When was a cub I woke up my first winter covered in my mothers blood. Not something you forget.
I called up the plans of the hotel in my head and head off to the hot tubs. I needed to relax.
