I watched in terror from my safe corner in my closet as a gang shot my father and stabbed my mother.
No! I wanted to scream and run to my mother, who was still alive. I started to get up and opened the door little-by-little.
Mother looked over at me and screamed and pleaded with her eyes as more and more of her blood was spilled.
But I was immune. I stepped out and screamed, "Mother!"
The gang members now were fully aware that I was in the room, too.
"Well, well," one ugly man with an ugly soul came towards me, "What do we have here?"
"Is she a bloody halfer, too?" hissed another man.
"Kasumi....Kasumi!" mother gasped with her last breath.
One man grabbed me, the one with the ugliest soul I had ever seen.
"Don't touch me," I warned him with hate in my voice.
"I'll do what I please!" he said as he brought that bloody knife to my small arm.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!" I screamed and with quick motions, stabbed him with the knife.
He screamed and backed away while others took his place, all trying to kill me. I flipped over one man and threw another across the room.
"Let's get out of here!" cried many of those gang members as they fled the murder scene.

Rain woke me up as it splashed onto my face.
I had THAT dream again, I thought angrily to myself. I was 3 years old when my parents were killed. For my age and for a girl, I was freakishly strong and fast. Right now, I was 7.
I shook the rain off and looked around to see if I could find anything to eat. I was what many called, a thief. I called myself "a survivor."
I was also a halfer. I was half human and half soricid, just like my parents used to be.
I spotted a target and ran. It seemed like the best meal I would ever get! A couple walkign down the street. The man had a hoagie tucked in the corner of his arm. I ran by and swiped the hoagie like an expert.
"Thief!" yelled the couple as they scrambled and slipped while trying to catch me, "Thief!"
"You won't catch me," I sighed, "Just give up and buy another!"
I ran to a rooftop with shelter to eat my well-earned meal.
