Once again, I stopped dead in my tracks.
"Hey, I'll catch u guys later, ok?" I said and began to jog away off to the center of the city.
"Huh? What?!" a startled Asuka called after me, "Where are you going?! We can't split up even more!"
"Yeah! Asuka's right!" "What are you doing?!" and other calls followed me.
I stopped for a second and said, "Well, I have to get the party rready, duh! Don't worry! I can find you guys when the time comes! No prob!" I smiled and took off, full speed.
I kept running until I found the place I was looking for. I had been here on a job before. Heh, I thought, They're gointa be happy to see me back!
The place was a restaurant. it had the finest food in the area.
I walked right in and said, "Hey guys! Guess who came back to this dry ol' town!"
The place fell silent. And then...
"IT'S THAT HALFER-GIRL! THAT RAT! GET HER!"
but nobody moved.
"Relax," I said, "I'm just here for some food! And besides I don't get why you hate me. I did your boss a favor and he promised he would pay me back one day."
They just stared at me.
"Is it because I'm different that you hate me?" I asked, "Is it?"
Then my friend walked through the back door.
"What's goin-...Kasumi?!" the manager of the place greeted me with a warm smile.
"Hey, Boss!" I smiled back, "i'm here for some food. For 14 hungry halfers who want to party."
"I'll whip somtin up! Come to the kitchen wiht me."
I followed him to the kitchen and we started up a warm conversation.
"You know," said Boss, "my little brother has been looking for you."
i dropped my drink nad it spilled all over the floor.
"What?! That IDIOT! I told him to not follow me! To forget me!" I pratically screamed.
"Now why would he do that? He really cares about you. You're his first and only best friend!" Boss told me.
"I know...I care about him, too. I...just made him...suffer though...I COULDN'T TAKE HOW MUCH PAIN I CAUSED HIM!" I almost started to cry.
"Why don't you tell him that?" Boss asked.
Then Tamotsu walked in the room.
"Hey, Kasumi-sama."he smiled like nothing had happened.
I walked over so I was two feet from him.
"Tamotsu-kun..." I mumbled. Then I threw my dagger at him.
He caught it with ease then threw it back so I could catch it.
I ran over and hugged him. "You big idiot! Don't you evr listen?!" I playfully punched his arm and he smiled.
