Two new half breeds stumbled upon us, and I was aware of them talking to Sky and the others, but I couldn't concentrate on listening to what they were saying.
I sat there with Asuka in my arms- she was still in a daze, unsure of her next move- while I tried to sort through my own thoughts. Glancing around, I knew everyone else had their own problems. Kara was dead! And here I was feeling sorry for myself? Shaking my head, I pushed the pain and anguish aside. I was not going to make things worse for everyone.
Zero was staring off into the distance. Taking a deep breath to steady myself and my emotion, I sensed a pack of wolves surrounding us. I immedietly picked out one that was not all wolf- a half breed.
What I couldn't sense was if they were the good guys or the bad. Either way, they thought we were a threat. I felt them closing in, and I was beginning to get claustofobic. My initial instict was pinpoint the leader and and attack. Zero placed his hand on my shoulder as if he knew what was running through my head.
I nodded, telling him I wasn't going to do anything stupid. We needed to warn the rest of the group. While he went to go talk to the others, I suddenly sensed the pack moving closer. They must have figured out that we knew that they were there, so they were moving in to chase us out. I quickly transformed into tiger mode, standing protectively by Asuka's side, who was confused at what was going on.
I heard a noise and before I knew it, I was fighting the alpha of the group. I could tell he was the alpha because he was the biggest and the others all seemed to do whatever he said. The other pack fanned out.
"Asuka! Run," I cried at her as I held off the alpha. She didn't seem to hear me. "Asuka! Run!" I yelled louder, and she finally seemed to hear me as she rushed back towards the group, morphin as she went.
