Io hung back with seth and azera. She didn't know what to do, become bait or help with the collars. Azera barked an answer to her question, "You and seth are strong, go and bait them while I remain here with the others."

Both Seth and Io agreed to this plan. Io walked over to Azera and put her arms around the Hyeanodons thick neck. The animal licked Io's cheek to show her affection. Seth did the same. He pulled out a cigarette and inhaled strongly blowing out a dark cloud of red smoke. "I guess we should get on with the others." Io knew he was still sad over Kovu's departure.

With a final glance at Azera, Io followed Seth to the "bait" group. "We will join you," she said in an even tone. She glanced around and saw Kasumi conversing with Tamotsu. It appeard Tamotsu was leaning toward joing the bait team.
