I watched the small timber wolf halfer injure Thunder. She fainted from blood-loss and the cow run up to her. He spoke to her in a reassuring voice. I didn't hear what he said though. Thunder was up, he was after them.
I stood up. I was in my wolf form now. "Nanuke go find some herbs," I told her. I didn't want her to see what I was about to do. I watched her run off knowing that what she gathered would help with all the injures. I turned to Thunder. "I should never have let you take refuge in the pack," I growled as all eyes turned to me.
I lunged forward, aiming for his throat. He batted me away like I was an annoying pup. I gasped for air. My throat still hadn't recovered from the presser he had placed on it. I was larger than him yet he had the advantage, but I had something to protect, and I would protect it.
My head span. I threatened to black out. I steadied myself and lunged again, only to be knocked away a second time. I had let Thunder into the wolf pack that was attacking us. Why must these others pay for my mistake?
I lunged one finale time. My teeth met there mark. I sank my teeth into his throat. I didn't crush it there instead I growled, "I'll make up for that mistake now." I stud on my hind legs and jerked my head up violently. This motion tor a huge hole in his throat.
I felt his blood splatter my fur as it rushed from that wound. A fierce joy rose up in my, the joy of the kill for all wolves, but I pushed it down. "You filthy halfer," Thunder mouthed while his wound bled even more fiercely. I made no move to put him out of his misery, he'd be dead some anyway. I just stud there his blood in my fur. I lifted my head and let out a long sorrowful howl. What would Shadow have don, would he have killed him or not let him into the pack in the first place? I was nothing compared to him.
