---Zags POV---
Conifers dotted the landscape as I pawed through the bleak. My large dark figure a stark contrast with the green and light browns that painted the landscape, the night being a forgiving blanket of dark being the only thing keeping my bulk out of sight. Yet the night could do nothing to hide the thick thump of my thick paws. I looked up at the clear violet night sky.
My sight focused on a tall steady column of blue smoke in the distance. The night sky polluted by the fire in that far off place. I moved my bulk off my back paws and started to hustle through the once silent woods. Stick and twigs flew from my path as a ton of weight came barreling through. I began to hear some voices far in the distance. I heard the licking roaring flames in the distance. I heard the rising pressure of gas in the house.
I ran my lungs out crossing the distance to the house. It was at least a mile away when I heard the pipes start to break. I saw some wolfs near some of the human survivors, I had to deal with that later. I stood up and roared. And the wolves backed up a little and started to growl. Smart wolves, I looked at the house and heard the gas start to leak. This wasn't going to be pretty.
"What are you doing here?" I looked at the wolf; I could have sworn he had just talked. Was he like me?
No time left to wonder. I ran to the house and reared on two legs, I reached up and pushed on the roof on the ruined house. The foundation and the supports easily gave way after being lick much by the flames. With a giant crash the house fell on itself. Now it wouldn't spread to the surrounding trees and the fire would be contained.
Dashing in the direction of the wolves they all came at me at once. Guess they took me for a enemy trying to eat the humans. I didn't care as they jumped on my back and start to dig into my flesh. Roaring loudly, I grabbed the still humans as lightly as possible with my jaw and paws and dragged them as fast as I could from the soon to explode house. I noticed the wolf tried much hard to rip me with the humans in my jaws.
The explosion ripped through the air, and the shard of glass hit the earth in a shower of rainbow sparkles. Wood rained down. I watched as the house came down from the air and looked for any trees that caught fire. It was then I was distracted by a biting itch near my spine. I looked back and saw a wolf there digging in.
"If you don't stop I'll bite your head off." I said slowly.
I went back to looking at the trees, pleasantly noticing that the biting was gone.
