I looked up at the house as it burned. Shivering I looked over at my brother to see what his reaction was, but he seemed just blank. Some times I wondered if anything actually bothered him….
Sighing I shook my head tried to ignore the roaring flames.
“Are you okay, Sky,” a voice asked. Turning my head I saw it was Abby.
Forcing a smile I replied, “Yeah…. Fine… I just have never liked fires.” I murmured.
Abby still seemed concerned for me but continued talking, “Alissa found something… And we thought we should tell… Er show you..” She said and started to lead me away from the group.
Just what exactly had they found? I tipped my head to the side as I followed Abby still confused a little.
We walked for a while until we got away from the fire, of witch I was glade about, and closer to the outskirts of the town. Soon I could hear the sound of water and saw Alissa up a head and she waved to us.
“Now what did you need to sh-“ I was then silenced with a Shhhh by both of them. They pointed and I cranked my neck to see what they were looking at…
“An otter? =w=’ “ I asked confused. Why was it so important? Alissa shook her head and Abby explained.
“Otters aren’t natural here. Remember?” Oh yeah…
I shrugged still not getting their point, “Maybe it’s and escape otter?” But before they could answer someone new spoke up.
“Who are you?” The girl asked with the same kind of silted eyes as mine… Another cat half breeds??? How in the world didn’t I smell her earlier!? I looked nervously from her then back to Alissa and Abby, then the little otter and got what they had been trying to say-The otter, who didn’t naturally live here, was a half breed as well!
The girl in front of us repeated her question, “Who are you?”
But before I could answer movement caught my eye and out came a bear.
“Um….” I just stared at it then noticed that it had a little ash on it’s fur as well as blood… Bite marks maybe? I shook my head then decided I should introduce myself to the other cat halfer and… The bear….
