Leaving

We were all resting in the cave we had found when Jake hadn’t come back after awhile and Ice came back injured. I sighed and looked around at everyone. We couldn’t stay here, too many of these halfers weren’t suited to live in these conditions. I shivered and pulled my knees up close to me.
Suddenly Tamotsu ran into the cave. A few people looked up at him while others didn’t even flinch. He walked towards me and delived the bear halfer’s message, “The bear-halfer, I didn’t catch his name, wants us to go into the cave hes in because of the terrible storm approaching. He seems trustworthy.” I nodded and he went off to find Kasumi I assumed.
I got onto my feet and walked over to tell some half breeds who looked ready/willing enough to help get everyone going again. We all started to leave when Sora came running up, “Sky, Sky, Sky!!” she said and place a hand on my shoulder panting slightly. Where the heck had she been?
“I was flying around, and, and than I saw something in the snow!” I stared at her blankly, “Wow, Sora. That’s interesting, now come on.” Sora frowned and pulled me back again, “No, no! It looked like a person!! Shouldn’t we at least go and look?” I shook my head. “It’s their own fault if they got stuck in this storm.” I told her gently. Plus we couldn’t risk to get separated.
“Fine! I’ll just go and look on my own!” she snapped and I was surprised but before I could say something she turned into a hawk and flew off, almost immediately disappearing into the white.
I couldn’t go after Sora right now so I just stayed where I was before continuing. Looking around I made sure no one was getting left behind and spotted some of the younger ones still playing in the snow. I sighed and started to trek that way when I heard someone.
“Where you going, umm….” I turned and looked at her. She was older than me, around 18 or 19.. “Sky,” I told her and than pointed, “I’m going to go and get them…Who are you?” She nodded and replied, “I’ll help and my names Raina.” I was going to protest that I didn’t need help but I didn’t.
I nodded to her and we made our way towards them. Zoey noticed us, “Oh boy! Are you going to be in the snowman competition too?” she asked excitedly. I smiled, if I wasn’t shivering and cold, and maybe under different circumstances, I would have, but I just shook my head.
“The groups moving on.” Raina told them and pointed to the direction we had come. “Aw, come on. We just started.” Zack said sadly. I tried to smile at them, “I’ll tell you what, we’ll play in the snow again once the storm has subsided. Than there will be even more snow and I bet more people will participate.”
They all nodded, “Allright,” Zoey said. “Promises both of you will be in it?” I laughed and said yes while Raina nodded and smiled a little too.
“Now come on, we don’t want to be left behind.”

I flew over and tried to spot that thing again(Hawk eyes are sharp you know!) and it was my luck that the wind was letting me glide. It wasn’t the best, but it was better than walking.
Finally I saw the shape, part of it was covered in snow by now. I flew down and turned into my human form. I looked down at it and I was right, I was a person.
“Hay,” I said and crouched down beside, getting some snow off I saw that it was a girl. She looked around my age with purpleish black hair. “Are you awake?” I asked and shook her shoulder again. She couldn’t be dead!
Finally I got a grumble response and I sighed, but I needed to get her out of here. She was too heavy for me to carry in the air so I guess I was stuck with walking. Suddenly I regretted coming alone…I should have at least dragged David along.
“H-hello? Anyone? Help please!” I shouted. When no one answered I sighed and kind of awkwardly picked her up and started to carry her. It felt like I had been walking a long time, but I knew I hadn’t. I took my scarf off and wrapped it around her, hoping that it could at least keep her warmer.
Before I got a chance to continue I heard something, “Um, hello?” but my words were drown out by the wind. I had to laugh a little. Finally it was alright for me to use my “out doors voice” (even though I was out doors most of the time…) “HELLOOOOOOO!!! ANY ONE THERE?!!!” I shouted and waited a few seconds before I saw two people silhouetted.
Thank god I found someone, I thought as I went to them.

It was nice to be with Moon for awhile, though we weren’t alone, at least we were out of the storm….Plus it wasn’t bad that I leaned my head on his shoulder and his arm was wrapped around me…
I tried to fall back asleep again, but couldn’t. Not with the smell of blood in the air still… It was sad that she was dead, but than again, I didn’t know her that well…Death continues to swarm my life, I thought to myself.
Opening my eyes suddenly I started to dig in my jacket pocket (it was on the inside so I wouldn’t lose it) and pulled out a photo that was folded in half. Moon looked at it curiously as I unfolded it and felt a stab of sarrow as I looked at everyone. It was a happier time that was for sure… Yet, in that time I didn’t know Moon…
On the photo there were six people. Everyone smiling or laughing. It wasn’t taken by a profesonal or anything, so it was slightly tipped to the side. Moon turned his head to the side and pointed, “That’s you, right?” I nodded and pointed to the other people.
“And that’s Creg” I said and pointed to a man who had just a faint smile on his face with his arm still wrapped protectively around his girl friend. “that’s Diana,” she was staring blankly at the camera as if she didn’t know was it was. “Of course that’s me.” I laughed at my stupid expression.
“Tyler,” I saw Moon look at it interested. “He didn’t look anything like he did back there. I nodded. Back there Tyler had warn a long sleeved shirt covering his arms that had various tattoos. He was laughing and having fun too and was leaning on Liz and her older sister Kiri.
“And finally Liz and Kiri.” I stared at it a moment longer before tucking it away, “My almost perfect world.” He seemed confused, and I smiled at him, “Almost perfect because it lacked you.” I blushed thinking about how silly I sounded. Yet it was still true…
“Oh,” Moon said as if he remembered something, “Rika I-“ he was cut off as Sky announced that we were going to be moving out soon. I looked back at him but he shrugged, “Never mind…” he said and stared at the floor.
