What We Would Do...~Tamotsu&Aditi

Tamotsu~

Where had Aditi gone? I had seen her earlier but lost sight of her on the way here.

I stared intently out the window into the snowy world outside, half expecting the girl with golden hair and blue-green eyes to pop up in front of me.

Then I spotted hoof prints in the snow, slowly disappearing.

I saw Kasumi getting up from a couch to go to her room with Io and then Gray appeared next to me.

"I've got our key," he told me.

I shook my head and started walking away, "I'm going for a walk first. I'll be back in a few."

He caught my arm and asked, "In that weather?"

I just shrugged and took off again.

the air outside was freezing and bitter, almost like my feelings towards Aditi.

Normally, I gave people as many chances as neccessary and didn't disagree a lot, but Aditi threatened everyone in our group. She threatened Harmony. She threatened Kasumi.

I unhooked my bow from my back and buckled my stump of a right arm in the strap and adjusted it to fit comfortably.

Then I stopped beneath a lone tree. This is where the hoof prints ended.

Looking up, I saw Aditi sitting on a branch with her back against the trunk of the tree, twirling her pearl pistol in her skilled hand.

"Hello, Tamotsu," she said with a cruel look in her eyes. If I could see her mouth, I bet it would be curled in a nasty grin.

I gave an icy glare and asked, "Why are you here?"

She sighed and just stared up through the branches, "You wouldn't like my answer. I could always lie, but I'm not a liar, am I?"

"Answer me," I stated, pulling an arrow from my quiver.

Then she tilted her head towards me and I could see an amused smile in her eyes.

Annoyed, I swiped the arrow through the air in a swift motion. It hooked on the bandana hanging across her face and pulled it away.

This was hte first time I had seen her whole face. All I had known before were those beautifully cruel eyes.

She was a real beauty and probably had a great deal of admirers, not me though. The only thing out of place was a nasty scar that ran from her right cheek to the left side of her chin.

"You really wanna know?" she said with a grin, "I'm here to kill her. Kill Kausmi."

Aditi~

The boy with the white hair glared at me with hate in his ice blue eyes and put his arrow to his bow string.

Ahh, what we do for those we love.

FLASHBACK~!

"Adi," whispered the boy next to me.

I turned to smile in his beautiful face that held those gorgeous blue eyes. That beautiful face that was framed by a dark mess of soft hair.

"I love you," he whispered sincerely and leaned in to kiss my cheek.

Would he still love me if he knew what I did? Would he still kiss my cheek if he knew innocent blood splattered it?

Would he still love me if he knew that I killed to pay for his operation?

The Agency promised me that if I completed just one more assassination than I would be free to go and they would pay all the expenses for Tyler's operation.

So that night, I tied my bandana around the bottom half of my face and picked up my pearl handled pistol that the Agency had givenn me.

Tonight's mission would be easy. Kill the oldest son of a man who had defied a client. Easy.

Little did I know that this mission would be a disaster.

I completed it with precision and skill, sure, but what followed was a mess.

I had killed Tyler's older brother without realizing it. I had never met him so how was I supposed to know?

Tyler had rushed in as I stared at a family picture. He slashed me across the face with a kitchen knife and I didn't try to stop it.

The bandana fell and he stared in horror. Then I fled.

I never forgave the Agency and helped with those who wished to bring it down. I had been greatly rewarded, too.

But I never saw Tyler again.

END FLASHBACK

Now I hopped down from the branch as Tamotsu shot his arrow. This boy was skilled! the arrow sliced part of my skirt and grazed my thigh.

when my feet touched hte ground, I twisted to the right to avoid an incoming arrow and contered with a bullet shot at Tamotsu's head.

He tilted his head to avoid it and fired two more shots.

Two long range weapons against each other. This would be interesting.

I shot two bullets, one aimed at his heart and the other at his head but he avoided both.

Then as I was thinking about how to end this quickly, I felt a sharp pain in my legs.

Two shuriken were embedded there. When did he throw those?!

Then I heard the twang of a bow and swiveled to try and avoid it.

One arrow embedded itself in my side still and I grimaced.

Darn memories clouding my thoughts.

Then my leg with the shuriken in it, failed and caused me to fall to the ground.

"Poison?" I asked with a sad smile as I look up into Tamotsu's calm face, "D*mn you." My gun had slipped from my hand and my leg was of no use.

As a last resort, I reached back behind me casually for my emergency dagger.

Tamotsu came closer and kicked my gun further away. Then he fit the arrow to the string and aimed.

When I heard the twang of the bow, I shifted and threw the dagger at Tamotsu's heart.

Unfortunately, his reflexes were as good as my own.

His arrow embedded itself between my shoulder and my heart with a sharp pain, and my dagger was riven in his shoulder.

I pressed my hand to the wound instinctivly. Then I looked up into his merciless eyes. There was nothing more I cold do. I had made too many mistakes, both in the fight and in my past.

Then he pulled the dagger out of his shoulder and walked closer.

"You'll never hurt Kasumi or anyone ever again," he told me as he drove my own dagger through my heart.

'Why had I let him kill me?' I wondered as I stood at the brink of death, 'Had I wanted to die?'

"Tyler...sorry.." I whispered and let the darkness consume me and my sins.
