I stretch, raising my arms above my head. I'm in the lobby of an old hotel, along with the rest of our group.
"So," I say, looking around. I'm sitting with Lucy, Zack and Zoey, Belk and, sadly, Colette. "Who's rooming with who?"
"Why don't we put the girls in one room, and the boys in another?" Zoey suggests while motioning to the other girls and herself. I look around and everyone nods in agreement. I stand up and head over to where Sky is.
"Hey! I need 2 room keys... If that's okay?" I say to Sky.
"Yeah, sure." She goes to get the keys, and I glance over at the person who was next to her.
"Hey, Mutt." The girl says. It takes me a second to register the voice, but then I realise its Claudia.... and that she had called me a mutt.
"Argh! Claudia! I told you not to call me that!!!!" I growl at her, and she rolls her eyes.
"Whatever..... mutt." I was just about to say something to her when Sky walks back up.
"Here are the keys." She says. I step to the side, just in time to see Kari storm past, followed by Prince. I take a few steps back, just to make sure she doesn't notice me.
"Chii-chan?" Claudia asks.
"Yes?" the other girl replies. We all start to introduce ourselves to her.
"Hey, I'm Jethro." I say when its my turn. Machii, that's her name, smiles.
"Hey." she said. Suddenly, I feel a pair of bright, Aqua eyes piercing me.I know immediately that Kari noticed me.
"Crap." I whisper to myself, glancing down at my room key. I'm in room 214, and the girls are in 206. close, but not too close.
"Jethro......" Kari starts, Moving closer to me. "I'm not finished with you."
She pulls out a pocket knife, and I move back a few steps, planning my escape. I'll go by Zoey and them, throw the girl's room key, and make a break for the stairs. I wait a few moments, and then I start running.
"Zoey, Catch!" I toss the key in her direction as I sprint by, then head for the staircase. I know Kari's not that close behind.
"You still haven't said it!" She shouts as we ascend the stairs, only a few steps apart.
"No!" I say back, the run onto the landing. I glance back, and it turns out Claudia and them are following Kari and me.
"Say it!" I start looking for my room. 209, 210, 211, 212, 213.... I think as I run past the doors. A few heads poke out of their rooms at the sound of the commotion.I spot my door, and I run towards it. I fidget with the cold metal key for a moment, then push the wooden door open. I get inside and slam it shut.
"Get back out here!" Kari says, hitting the door.
I hear other noises as I slide down to the floor.
"What was that about?" One says.
"Uh... .do we even wanna know?" Said another.
"Just stay in there, mutt!" I hear Claudia say from the other side of the door. Soon, I fall asleep, but my dreams were not very pleasant ones.
