"Your face is still a little red...You're positive you don't have a fever, right?" Peirce asked worriedly.
I felt my face lightly and I flushed a little redder, but I shook my head and smiled a bit, "No, I'm fine, Pierce. Promise." Is he really worrying about me being sick? Am I getting sick? Wouldn't Alissa have noticed?
Perice frowned for a minute, then grinned, "Fine, fine. C'mon, let's go to the lobby, and, since you've now heard my sob story, how about you tell me about yourself?" He gestured down the hall.
I blinked, and then smiled warmly, "Sure." I wonder when Alissa will be getting up...
I walked out of Peirce's room, and he followed me out. Then he went by my side left side. "So tell me about yourself," Peirce said.
"Um......," I said stupidly.
"What?" he asked.
"I don't know what to say..." I said, lightly pressing the back of my hand to my forehead, "why don't you ask me something, and I'll try to answer."
"Ok," he said cheerfully, "um....are you a quiet person?" he asked after a few seconds, which seemed like minutes.
"Yeah I am," I said quietly, "is that a problem...?"
"No, I was just wondering. You don't seem that quiet." He looked at me, and I looked back.
"I don't?" I said, shocked.
"No," he gave me a kind of look.
"R-r-really?" I asked.
"Yeah," he said, "you seem to stutter though."
"Sorry," I said, "just...kinda...nervous..."
"Nervous? Why?" he asked.
"Not used to talking to other people," I mumbled.
"You seem like a nice girl," he said with a smile, "why wouldn't you be able to talk to other people?" I'm a nice person? I looked down.
"Not everyone wants to talk to a bird girl," I said coldly.
"I..I do," Peirce said quietly.
"You do?" I asked, looking into his eyes.
"Yeah," he said, "you're a good person."
"Thank you," I said looking back at the ground. His eyes seem to look into my soul...Maybe what Alissa said was right...maybe Alissa was right..I do like...
"Abby?" Peirce said, interrupting my thoughts, "you okay?" I noticed we weren't walking anymore.
"Yeah," I said, "I was just thinking, sorry."
"What were you thinking about?" Peirce asked.
"Just something my friend Alissa said," I answered.
"How long have you and Alissa know each other?" he asked.
"Almost forever. We're almost like sisters..." I said, a little sadly.
He must have heard the slight sadness in my voice cause he asked, "Did something happen between you two?"
"Um...well....kinda," I said looking at the floor of the hallway.
"What do you mean, kinda?" Peirce asked.
"S-s-s-she said something...and..." I said leaning against the wall as we walked.
"What did she say? I don't mean to be nosy or anything..." he said. I saw him look at me for a quick second.
"She was just...kinda..picking on me...hinting at...something" I said, slightly walking slower.
"About what?" he asked, watching me. Is it me, or did this hallway get longer? I looked up and tried to see the end of the hallway. Is it me or did the hallway get a little fuzzy?
"J-j-j-just...when you were getting your key, I was watching you..and she saw...and..." I stuttered, leaning against the wall more. I sneezed.
"You okay?" Peirce asked, somewhat alarmed.
"Y-y-yeah, I'm just fine..." I said. I looked at Peirce and saw he got kinda fuzzy too. I rubbed my eyes.
"Abby, are you okay?" Peirce asked. He stopped walking and he stared at me.
I put my hand on my head, was I getting headache? I sneezed again.
"Bless you," Peirce said.
"Thanks," I coughed. Am I getting sick?
