Silence, perfect….
The sky looked so beautiful but the cold weather was bothering me; the last few days I had been walking and walkinf non stop trying to reach the building I saw and thought it was near my location.
The truth is that I really wanted a warm place to stay and for a strange reason it felt as if people was going to accept me in there.
The monks once told me it was going to be difficult to me to melt in the human society for being what I was; I didn’t believe then until it actually happened; it was true that I was accepted by some kind humans but the reality was that the majority hated halfers…
Now I wasn’t very sure how I ended in this cold place, it was as if some hidden instinct brought me there.
I stretched my legs and arms still sitting in the branch of the tree I was; suddenly I heard soft footsteps and panicked, returning to my human form, something that took me a lot of effort and that I still have to learn how to control. The footsteps became louder and louder and also increased the number; then from one moment to another a group of people appeared; the feeling they caused on me was not nice. The monk mentioned people similar to them, they were called hunters…where this people hunters? If they were it was my first time seeing them, but is they where there maybe someone was in danger…
I kept in silence watching how they slowly approached the building and then loud noises were heard all over the place, I simply hated it but wasn’t brave enough to do something about it; besides they hadn’t see me.
Then I saw them. They were three halfers who where escaping the building…they were able to fly. I sighed and automatically descended from the tree as silent as possible; I was going to try to be friends with them; hopefully they won’t reject me like the other groups had; they were few right? I slowly walked to the little cave they managed to find and instantly stop when their voices stop; my face turned to see if the cause where hunters but it appeared it was me.
“Should I? Or should I not…” I thought while waiting “I don’t want to be alone…” I reunited my bravery and step closer peeking inside the little cave; I almost had a heart-attack as my face met with another one, the only thing my eyes saw was another pair of a strange yellow eyes looking at me; my ears went down and my body began to tremble nonstop; everything became worst when the person suddenly dragged me inside the cave and hold me.
“Be silent….they are coming”
What was happening??!! I couldn’t stop trembling so I hold tighter to the person and realized two things; one she was a female and second, as soon as she finished talking a small group of hunters began to walk around.
