~Luna
Sitting around in a cave was boring.... The snowstorm outside whipped like crazed hell and I just sat on the cave floor, watching my own tail go back and forth as everybody dug into their meals they caught earlier. I wasn't really hungry... After seeing another one of the group die was enough for me not to eat... let alone throw up.
"Hey, Luna, you gonna eat anything?" I looked up and saw Alex looming over as he held a rabbit in his teeth and I shrugged.
"After Missie died, it's kind of hard to eat anything, Alex," I told him flatly and he just nodded as he sat down beside me and put the dead rabbit down and pushed it towards me.
"Come on. You need your strength. You know how Missie was on you about that," Alex muttered and I pulled the rabbit towards me and ate the whole rabbit within a few gulps.
"See? Wasn't so hard, was it?" Alex asked me sarcastically and I hit him with my tail before I turned to him and started washing his fur and he started washing mine. We didn't like each other or anything like that. We just did it so we gave each other respect and whatnot. Nothing like that or anything.
Once we finished up, I shook out my fur, dragged the rabbit outside with my teeth and that's when I picked up a weird smell as I was burying the rabbit. No... It couldn't be... It honestly couldn't be... I hadn't seen Moon in years... How would he be close now?
That's when I picked up other scents. Other halfers, and loads of blood too. It made me gag for a few seconds. That's when everybody else in the cave came out and looked at me.
"We smell the blood too. Want to help?" Alex asked as he came up behind me. I nodded and we all headed off towards the smell of blood... and my brother.
Moon.... I hadn't seen my brother for seven years now... I hadn't seen Mom for three. At least I was getting one person back in the family.
We hurried to what seemed an abandoned, clearly not now, ski resort and I could smell Moon, and loads of other halfers. We could see halfers being dragged off but I headed towards Moon as everybody else went to go help the stragglers who had gotten away.
I saw Moon with a girl. She had brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. She was wearing a tank top, brown skirt, and a huge jacket so that she could stay warm. Moon was trying to wake her up, and I could hear her heartbeat, so at least she wasn't dying. I saw the girl wake up and Moon put his arm around her so that she could stand up at least.
It was near the end of the fight now, and once I got to Moon, I immediately went into my human form and hugged him.
"Moon! Oh my God!" I exclaimed and Moon looked surprised enough as an animal about to be killed and he continued to hold the girl up as he hugged me back and I let go of him.
"Luna! I can't believe it!" Moon exclaimed as he looked me over and I looked him over. His height had went up a bit, his hair had grown, and had a bit of fuzz on his face like a growing mustache or beard or something of the sort.
The girl looked at Moon and me and Moon realized something.
"Rika, this is my sister, Luna," Moon told the girl named Rika and Rika nodded.
That's when I sensed something behind me. I sensed a bear and loads of blood. And he was being snuck up by a hunter. I immediately turned around, took my knife out of its sheath and threw it at the hunter. It lodged right into its heart and the hunter was killed. That's when the bear turned and growled but stopped for a second.
"Hold your horses for a second, god," I sighed as I bent down to the dead hunter and thrusted the knife out of its chest and put it back in its sheath. I turned back to Moon and Rika.
"Where were we?" I asked and Moon just chuckled a little.
